사람들이 당신이나 당신의 훈련 방식에 대해 가지고 있는 가장 큰 오해는 무엇인가요? 제 생각에 저에 대한 가장 큰 오해는 아마도 다른 모든 사람들에 대한 오해와 비슷할 겁니다. 바로 우리가 변하지 않는다는 것이죠. 우리가 발전하지 않고, 개선되지 않는다는 오해 말입니다. 예를 들어 2년이나 2년 반 전에 제가 찍은 영상들을 보면 제 개들이 프롱 칼라를 착용하고 있는 모습을 볼 수 있습니다. 그래서 사람들은 '아, 맷은 강압적인 훈련만 하는구나'라고 생각하죠. 왜냐하면 그들은 제가 2년 전에 올린 영상을 보고, 제가 항상 개선하려고 노력한다는 사실은 깨닫지 못하기 때문입니다. 저는 항상 더 나은 반려견 훈련사가 되기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 제 예전 영상들을 돌아볼 때, 작년 영상에서 제가 했던 방식 중 잘못된 점을 최소 다섯 가지 이상 찾아내지 못한다면, 훈련사로서 발전하기 위해 충분히 노력하지 않고 있는 것이라고 생각합니다. 저는 항상 발전하고 싶습니다. 예를 들어, 가장 어린 두 마리인 알렉산드라와 마그누스는 프롱 칼라를 착용한 적이 전혀 없습니다. 울리히도 아마 지난 2년간 프롱 칼라를 착용하지 않았을 겁니다. 저는 2년 전과 똑같은 것을 가르치거나 똑같은 방식으로 가르치고 있지 않습니다. 오늘날 제가 하는 방식과는 다르죠. 그게 바로 재미죠. 기초적인 부분을 항상 실험하면서 훈련의 즐거움을 유지하는 원동력입니다. 물론이죠. 감사합니다.
What is the biggest misconception people have about either you or your training? I think probably the biggest misconception about me would be very similar to the just really a misconception about everybody is that we're not changing. We're not evolving. We're not improving. You can look at videos that I did say, you know, two, two and a half years ago, and you can see a prong collar on my dogs. And so people will think, oh, well, Matt, all he does is compulsion because they see a video that I put out two years ago, and they don't realize that I am always trying to improve. I'm always trying to become a better dog trainer. You know, looking at my old videos, if I can't look at last year's videos and find at least five things wrong with what I was doing, then I'm not working hard enough to improve as a dog trainer. I always want to be improving. Just for instance, Alexandra and Magnus, my two youngest, have never had a prong collar on them. Ulrich hasn't had a prong collar on them in probably two years. I'm not teaching the same things that I did two years ago or teaching them in the same ways, you know, as I am today. That's the fun. That's what keeps the game fun for me is to always be experimenting with the foundations. Of course. Thank you.
