소셜 미디어가 퍼뜨리고 있는 완벽함의 이미지가 있다고 생각합니다. 그 완벽함이 생후 1년 된 반려견들에게는 당연한 것처럼 여겨지고 있죠. 하지만 그것은 현실이 아닙니다. 만약 여러분의 현실이 소셜 미디어에서 보는 것과 다르다면, 그것은 좌절감을 주고 우울하게 만들며, 자신이 제대로 하고 있는 건지, 굳이 이렇게까지 해야 하는 건지 의문을 갖게 만듭니다. 사람들은 모든 것이 아름답게 보이기만 하는 모습들을 보여주죠. 화려한 필터가 씌워진 소셜 미디어 말이에요, 그렇죠? 남들이 이뤄낸 성과와 여러분이 이루지 못한 것들을 비교하며 보지 마세요. 지난주에 여러분이 어디에 있었는지를 돌아보고, 스스로에게 관대해지며 그 성취를 축하해주세요. 매일 꾸준히 노력하는 것이 여러분을 놀라운 곳으로 이끌어 줄 것입니다. 매일 한 걸음씩만 내디뎌도 여러분은 더 나은 곳으로 나아갈 수 있습니다. 저는 그걸 잘 알고 있고, 그 마음을 모든 분께 전해드리고 싶습니다.
I believe there's an image of perfection that social media is spreading. That perfection is normalized for one-year-old dogs. And that's not reality. If your reality is not what you're seeing in social media, it's discouraging, it's depressing, and it makes you wonder if you're doing the right thing, if you should even be bothering to do this. People show you everything's beautiful. The social media with the glam filters on, right? Don't look at the people and what they've accomplished and what you haven't. Look at where you were last week and give yourself grace and celebrate that. Consistent effort daily is going to take you to an amazing place. Just one step every day is going to take you to a better place. I know that, and that's what I wish I could give to everybody.
