성공을 위한 환경을 조성하세요. 그렇다면 성공을 위한 환경이란 무엇일까요? 우선, 반려견을 한 마리 이상 키우시거나 훈련 중에 끼어들기를 좋아하는 고양이가 있다면, 다른 동물들은 방에서 나가게 하세요. 즉, 다른 공간에 있게 하는 것입니다. 아니면 제가 하는 방식처럼 제 반려견들에게, 침대로 올라가라고 지시하면, 제가 다른 개를 훈련하는 동안 그곳에 머물게 합니다. 만약 훈련이 매우 잘 된 반려견들이 있다면, 그렇게 침대로 올라가게 할 수 있겠지만, 그렇지 않다면 켄넬이나 울타리(X-Pen)에 두거나 다른 방에 두는 것이 좋습니다. 그래야 훈련 중인 개에게 집중할 수 있고, 반려견도 다른 동물이 무엇을 하는지 신경 쓸 필요가 없게 됩니다. 즉, 방에는 오직 한 마리의 개만 있어야 하며, 다른 개들은 따로 격리해 두세요.
set the environment for success. So what is an environment of success? First of all, if you have more than one dog or if you have a cat that likes to get in on your training, those animals are out of the room. So they are in another location. Or what I do is my dogs, if I tell them to hop it up in a bed, they'll stay there while I train another dog. So if you've got really well-trained dogs, then you can hop them up in a bed, otherwise either in a kennel or X-Pen or somewhere in another room. So that way you can focus on the dog and the dog doesn't have to worry about what this other animal is doing, which means only one dog in the room put the other dogs away.
