Hey everybody, we're live. You would not believe why we are delayed. You would not believe why we are delayed. Basically, I got to turn this way. Basically, it was this. We could not do anything with it. You would not believe. Like as bad as it looks right now, like it was, I'm thinking I'm making it worse, Kim. It was crazy. Okay. Welcome everybody. Connected Dog, the Connected Dog. Let me know in the comments where you're from. And I have a couple of questions for you. First of all, I would like to know if you watch the Connected Dog series. If you didn't, not a problem. This is a summer recession. If you watched the Connected Dog series, please share in the comments what was your biggest takeaway from the series. And if you can't pick one, you can put more than one in there. Meanwhile, while you're doing that, I'm going to give away a prize. Lowell Farm, Manitoba. Give a shout out to Manitoba. Hey, Karen from Scotland. Jessica from Ontario. So, from yesterday, we're giving away a Cocoa Therapy gift pack. If you don't know about Cocoa Therapy, one of our sponsors, amazing, amazing treats. And we're giving away a $50 gift pack for Cocoa. Hey, Shane. How are you doing? And the winner from yesterday, Lynette Cole. Well, Lynette, you are a winner of the Cocoa Therapy gift pack. So, a tug toy, For My Merles with recallers on it. And I can't promise they'll be just like this because they can't get these raspberries anymore. But they're, where is Swagger? Oh my gosh. We could do Where's Waldo because I couldn't see where Swagger was. And Karen Hartnell said, I spy Swagger. And I'm like, where? I don't see him. He's a kook. Okay. So, let's give away two. We'll give away a tug toy and we'll give away a frizzer from the good people at For My Merles. So, all you have to do to win is share this broadcast. I'll give away one prize at the end of today. And I'll give away one prize tomorrow because I'm going to come tomorrow night. I'm going to be live as well. Look at, we got, hi from Norway. We had another one I saw from Devin. That's in the UK. CER(조건부 정서 반응)은 정말 잊을 수가 없어요.
Romania. Yeah. That's what I got to share with you today. Okay. So, I'm looking for your, did you watch it? And what was your biggest takeaway? So, Nanette, biggest takeaway was the importance of creating the base of 5C learning pyramid, establishing connection with your dog. That's a very, very good one. Very good one. Here's Amber G. It was amazing. Hearts to you, Amber. Six dogs I'm working with. Love the games and patience is my biggest takeaway. That's awesome. All right. I'm looking for some, I might've missed a couple, so I'll scroll back up. Linda from Norway. Another country here. My takeaway was how a collar grab is also training for recall and of course, better mechanics. Become more aware of your own mechanics. Those are excellent, excellent takeaways. Robin's takeaway, I need to continue to place money in the bank. Collar grab daily for the win. It's just so simple. When you're training your dog with games, it's easy to continue to build, build a better relationship with your dog. Amy says her biggest takeaway was improving her mechanics. I mean, we just have to make a t-shirt, right? The more I know, the smarter my dog becomes. Like that's how it works. That's, that was the synopsis from the voice text that I got. Is it called a voice text? That I got yesterday morning from a friend. One of my friends, friends had been in the connected dog and said, I didn't realize how smart my dog was. That was like mind blowing. I can't get over the CERs. They're amazing. If you become, if you take that one thing away, your dog's life will get better. Is that you just be present to, is this a positive condition, emotional response that you're creating with your dog and what you're doing? Or is this a negative conditional emotional response with your dog? So, um, keep, keep on, keep that front, front, front, front and center. Not just when you train your dog, but when your dog's going through life. So, um, I, I caught myself in the middle of saying, if you would like to win a, we'll do, let's do the, um, we'll do the frizzer tomorrow. We'll do a tug toy. I know we'll do a tug toy at the end of the day, a frizzer and a tug toy tomorrow. All right. So just share the broadcast. Come on back here, write shared and write where you shared it. So our team can go and look at it and then put your name in the draw to win today. So that's what we're going to do. I'm going to, um, here's it. Biggest takeaway. I don't feel weird about doing tight T to perfect order of operations without your dog first. Oh my gosh. That's such a great takeaway.

Such a great takeaway because, because it's mechanics. Um, like my mentor, Bob Bailey, he, he has these Bob Bailey isms and one of them is, you know, training, training is, is all about mechanics. How does he say that exactly? Training is a mechanical skill. That's what he says. Training, dog training is a mechanical skill. End of story. Yes. You need to have a plan, but if you don't execute with the proper mechanics, that's what the connected dog was about, right? We helped you see that if you get the mechanics wrong, for example, with something as simple as collar grab, all you have to do is two things, grab a collar and feed a dog. If you don't get the order of events right, right? Correct. You have zero effect, zero effect. There's no conditioned emotional response. You have to get the order of events, right? So mechanicals, uh, a dog training is a mechanical skill. Everything is about mechanics, which is why we encourage you all to video. How many were not videoing your dog training before the connected dog, but are videoing it more consistently now or at all? Because I got to tell you, I was away last weekend and, um, I asked, um, one of my fitness coaches for some homework week and he gave me this simple, simple little movement. And I would, I went to the gym every day when I was away, I set up my camera. There was nobody else in there, but I really didn't care. Like I was 3000 kilometers away from home. Who's going to know me. And I just practiced that mechanical skill. And at the next, at the end of the day, I'd, I'd watch myself. You would not believe. So those of you who don't feel confident in your own mechanics as a dog trainer, I'm just going to share that the part of the skill I had to do was when my arm went back, I had to rotate my shoulders. You would not believe how many times when I watched the video, I was thinking about what my leg was doing and I was rotating my shoulders in the complete opposite direction. I could have kept practicing that for three days. Had I not videoed it the first day. So dog training is a mechanical skill. And if, if you weren't video in your training before, I really, really hope that you are videoing your training now. All right. So a lot of you were on the connected dog, a lot of great, great, um, a lot of great takeaways. Ava says, hello from Berlin. My dog has always fled when putting on the collar after the game, it goes much better. She now runs to her place and lets us put it on. Let's have some hearts for Ava, right? Because I bet at first that wasn't easy because your dog was

not showing a positive conditioned emotional response. And so it's amazing that you worked through that. Trudy, hi, Trudy. Trudy wrote my personal takeaway with gratitude is how it changed my life. Thank you. Thank you, Trudy for, for saying that. Okay. So I've got a lot of things to do. Remember share and, um, come back in the comments and write, not just that you shared where you shared it. So we can enter you in the draw. I've got a few questions I'm going to answer. I'm going to, um, but really what I want to do is I've got tons of notes so that we can go through the connected dog, get some takeaways. And, um, I'm going to give away some more prizes today. So just because I'm in the spirit, uh, Amber says I'm videoing way more and I am very critical of myself, not critical. You, you want to, I'm going to, I'm going to share a little story. I was on this, uh, executive coaching program. I'm always, I'm, I'm a lifelong learner. I'm, I love to improve everything that I can. Everything is, is improvable. So I wanted to, um, become a, a better team leader for my team. And one of the exercises they wanted you to do was to keep a journal for a week and every day, write in the journal, all the ways you were a horrible leader. This is what I did. This is why I was a horrible leader. This is what I did. This has made me a horrible leader. This is a bad mistake. I made this a bad mistake for a week. And I, after the first, now I'd paid a lot of money for this. Um, when I got the assignment, this was the like week two of a five week program. Um, I said to them respectfully, uh, my life is spent in reinforcement and I would never, my, my, I recognize the importance of mindset. Mindset is more important than anything. So I will never rehearse for my subconscious that I'm a bad person or I'm a bad leader or I'm bad at anything. And, and I said, here's what I've done for my students when, when we're trying to zero in on a, on a program. So this could be helpful to you. If you're trying to zero in on a challenge, what you're going to do is write down all the things that your dog did brilliantly that day, that you saw them, that you were able to catch them and reinforce them at. What are the things that your dog did brilliantly? Because that's a reflection of stuff you've done well. And then the things that you feel you've reacted badly to, you're going to write that under do differentlys, do differentlys, but we're at the end of the day, we're going to add up and celebrate everything we did well. And, and we're going to then create a plan for our do differentlys. Do you see how that's

different and far less toxic than creating a list of how you sucked and why you were bad and how everything begins with psychological safety for our dogs and for us, which is why I'm constantly asking you to give yourself grace as a dog owner. You can only be as good as your mentors and educators that came before me. You can't surpass them unless your curiosity takes you away from them. And so do not ever criticize yourself, look at celebrating what you did well, and then what you do differently. So thank you for bringing that up. Um, but I also want you to be aware, psychological safety starts with you. We need to create safety for our dogs, which is why I say, be careful. Like if you ever do go to a puppy class or a dog training class, please, I beg of you, if you learn nothing else from me, learn this one thing. Don't, when an instructor says, let me take your puppy, let me take your dog. You don't hand the puppy or the dog over. Without first saying, could you please explain to me what you're going to do if my dog or puppy reacts in a way that you don't expect? I need to know, will my puppy be blamed or corrected? Or is there anything that, can you just walk me through so I can do it myself? Could you just demonstrate without, without a dog so I can watch the mechanics and then I could try to do it on my own dog? Like the very last thing I want to do is take a student's dog. And if I do, I'm going to make it clear. Your puppy will be safe with me. I'm going to have some fun. That's it. All right. So, um, I'm off track. I haven't even started at episode one, episode one yet. Okay. So the connected dog, it was a six part series. My goal was for you to see the, the flow, the strategic mindset of how we train our students in our recallers program. It was basically a little glimpse at recallers in crammed into six quick episodes and six, um, or five games that you would learn from. I think he thinks I'm about to do that. And that gets him excited. All right. So the first episode was, was called, um, they said I was crazy and that, you know, that was going back to, I have never done things, um, the obvious way. If I thought there was a way that would be more fun, more efficient, um, or more instructional for myself or my dog. And so if we always do the same thing every time, then there's no opportunity for growth. And so when you do things that are extremely different from what other people are doing, then they'll either call you a witch and burn you at a stake, but we are not living in that era right now, or they'll say you're crazy and, um,

make fun of you. And eventually they'll start doing the same thing. And, and then by that point, I'm still questioning and learning and moving, moving forward and moving forward. So the, the connect the dog episode one was introducing you to what many of you have picked up on already, conditioned emotional responses that we need to deal with our dog's emotions before we can attempt to train them. So if you have a dog who is worried and then you say sit or cookie, or if they're worried, they may not take the cookie and they probably can't even hear you. Right. If you've ever been a place when I was, uh, I think I was 13 or 14 and it was a Friday night in the winter. And a few of my friends were walking downtown and one of my friends slammed, uh, a car, the fellow sleeping in the car. And the guy got out of the car and started chasing us. Yes. My friends were like almost six foot and I'm five foot two. Guess who was the last one running? And so I ran and screamed. I peed my pants while I was running. True story. I ran across a red light in the middle of traffic. Did not, did anybody, if somebody said, Hey, there's cars coming, would not have heard them. When you're in a state of fear, you're not, if somebody said, Hey, I got your favorite chocolate chip cookies while you're being chased by that man. When you're in a state of fear, you see nothing, you hear nothing, you are just going. So you can't, you can't reach that dog. The same is with the dog who is over aroused. And that's where the very first dog training school that she's just barking at herself over there. You can see goofy puppy. The very first dog training school I ever taught at back in the eighties, when a dog would come in and often it was like big old goofy Labrador retrievers. They would tell us, put them on a choke chain and pop their front feet off the ground until the dog settled down. So if the puppy was excited because there's people and there's other dogs and I'm so happy to be here. You had to knock that happiness out of them until they could listen. And that's what happens when there's ignorance and there's lack of care for our dog's emotional states. We just have a, a, a, a peg that we see a round hole and that peg's got to go in it. And so that's unfortunately still goes on today. And that's why episode number one, they said I was crazy was all about recognizing and establishing positive CERs for your dog. It was introducing you to the role that Pavlov has. And that if you get the order wrong with Pavlov, you aren't going to get conditioning and that you can't fight against Pavlov because if there's been

a conditioned response, it will be there until we uncondition it. All right. Or recondition something new. You were also introduced to the, uh, to the Q cookie. And I'm going to share in that, in that first episode, you were introduced to one of our students by the name of LaDonna. LaDonna had come to us having gone through all kinds of dog training schools in person, online. She had three crazed Dalmatians. LaDonna was a grandmother who, um, was, I think on the list to have a hip replacement at the time she joined us. So wasn't as mobile as she would like to be, had these three, um, you know, very high drive Dalmatians. And she didn't even tell her husband she was joining recallers because she didn't want to fail in front of him again. So she thought if this program really works, he'll, he's going to notice something's going on. So, um, this, you were introduced to LaDonna. I'm going to remind you, this was when she would start getting dinner ready or food ready for the dogs. This is what happened in her house. So it was chaos when someone came to the door, when somebody, um, was in the kitchen, it was chaos. And then yes, her husband did notice something was different because he, and so you get people who aren't supposed to necessarily succeed at a high level because of mobility issues because, because of the kind of dogs that they have, because they have multiple dogs. Oh, and I didn't mention one of her dogs was completely deaf. So her youngest dog, oh, there goes the hair. Okay. We're in trouble now. Kim, Kim, it's out of control. I don't know. I, I, I didn't, I got out of the shower and I didn't do anything with it. So those are the ones that, um, people say, Oh, you're crazy to try and fix that with games. Yeah. Guess what? We did get it fixed with games and the dogs did even, um, greet greetings at the door. Calm. The dogs were not out of control. They didn't molest the people. They came right back. And that your greeting is what you decide it is. But that was, um, what Millie said, um, about, about episode one is behaviors, feedback about emotions. I probably knew this subconsciously from my interactions with several different dogs, but the light bulb absolutely went on for me today as I could suddenly see the feedback my dog has been giving me in various situations. So that was the real gem that that's one episode. And at that point people could say, um, this is amazing. My dog now is when I go to reach for the collar, they actually turn and look at me. I can go out the door. I've got

all this success. It would be easy for people to say, this is, uh, this is good enough. This is good enough. My dog's so much better than it was before I started this one episode of connected dog. It's good enough. I don't need to watch the rest of the episodes. We're good. But think about anything. What is anything in your life? Like if you, if you, you know, went to a mechanic because you had something wrong with your engine and you came back on the, and the, and the, and the mechanic, and you said, did you get it fixed? Oh, I got it fixed good enough. Like you can get on the road. Like it should be safe for a bit. Like what, what is good enough? Yeah, that's good enough. We can carry on what, who's getting cheated when you say it's good enough. So most of you didn't stop at that first episode. You went on to the second episode of the connected dog. And that was, that was titled, um, you said, show me how, and this is where we introduced. So episode one, we introduced the cue cookie episode two, we introduced the cue search so that we could create clarity. Remember we're looking for psychological safety that comes from clarity. We are helping a dogs to understand our language as we are learning their language. And, um, so we've got two cues now. Here's when you can, when I'm holding a food or, or toy or something you want, here's when it's open for you. Here's when it's not available for you. So let's, you know what? I haven't done a demo with swagger in so very, very long. Let me test how well the puppy will stay in her chair. And I'm going to do a little demo to test swagger's ability to show self-control around his number one thing, which would be a dog toy. Okay. So I'm going to pick up a toy. I'm going to, I shouldn't be able to just keep that camera on. So if I, if I stay in shot, swag. Okay. So swagger is 12 and a half. Thank you. So if I, that that's often get it. Good. Now, if I go, get it. I have not done a demo like that with him in years. Okay. Okay. That's all. So clarity, some hearts for swaggy that I cannot tell. You know what happens when you get, did you give her cookies for not moving? Oh, she deserves some cookies. That's a good puppy. Okay. So Kim said it was a test for the puppy. So, so that was a test for everybody. Um, I've got this beside me here on the chair. She didn't try to get down and play. Tater salad is in, in his crate. He didn't try to get down, get out and play. And the puppy, I, I just assumed Kim would give her cookies so that she would stay in place. And Kim said, no, it was a test. I wasn't giving her

cookies. So episode one, episode two, we're teaching the dog when you, when it's appropriate for your dogs to take what it is that they really, really, really want. That's what episode two of the connected dog was about. Doesn't matter if you didn't see connected dog, we're going through it episode by episode. And we're going to share with you the insights. And it was all, it was all about, we introduced you to the five C pyramid where we are looking at the, at the very, very bottom to create clarity. Now there's a sub bottom and that would be psychological safety, but that doesn't start with a C. So that didn't work for my pyramid. So, so then we, we need to create clarity with what it is that we are doing. That's why we teach the word cookie before we try to use the, imagine if we didn't teach the word cookie. And then we tried to use food in training, our dogs trying to get our food all the time. And we're like, I didn't see a cookie. You got to learn that. And that's why before we teach any of the, like really deep, get into the deep layers of our games, we teach the dog when the cookie's coming towards you and when you should stay put and go and look for it, when you go look for it with, with the word search. So we introduced you to the five P, five P serum, five C pyramid and which gave you insight into how we address challenges. And that is the number one thing that people come to us for my, I've got a challenge. I need help with this challenge. My dog is nuisance barking, knocking over my kids, nipping, chasing bicycles, reacting on leash. Those are some of the biggies, but with the insight you now have about the five C pyramid, you, and the insight you have about what I shared on that live, where I talked about those behaviors are the top of our iceberg. Remember the top of the iceberg is where we, we tend to focus, but it really isn't what, what, where, um, where we should be focusing because the wind could blow and blow and blow and blow the top of the iceberg in one direction. And that wind is your challenges. He's jumping on, he's running off. He's not listening. He's not coming back with the toy. The bottom of the iceberg is what moves the direction. So all of the challenges at the top, those are, those are just like, like not, not at all with, they, they have zero meaning. They're the, the, the things I need my dog too. I need my dog to, um, you know, not, not jump on people. But what we're really doing is we want to go beneath that level to a deeper level where we get the transformational relationship,

where we get the wow. And even beneath that is where we get the deepest level of connection, where we get the, uh, where we get a dog who is, goes from extreme challenge to you, extreme frustration, potentially occasional anger and blame and judgment to playing these games and the dogs like blowing you away. I didn't realize how smart he was. That's, that's what we were getting in video two. We were moving into that place. And I'm going to share with you some of the challenges that are, some of the challenges that came to us and some of the videos I'm going to show you, it could be people who are, have been in recallers for as little as two months and some that have been in recallers for as much, much as, you know, two years. There, there are people who've been in recallers since 2009. They love the community. They love the vibe. They know we're their people and they just stay. Um, but the people I'm going to show you in the video, the, the videos that I'm showing you today, they're just people that have, are at different stages of learning within the, the dog, the, um, recallers program. So Otis was a rescue dog who he's, he's as cute as a button. I mean, I mean, all dogs are cute, right? But Otis, he was not a, he was a rescue dog who was given a little bit too much freedom, the boundaries of love instead of the boundaries of clarity. And he got to be a bit of a problem for his family. So in particular, Otis, it was a problem with the cats. And that is another one people say, how can I have dogs and cats in the family? And so that's where Otis was when they came to us. And that was their number one problem is we need to deal with, have Otis not stop harassing the cats. Okay. And here's where Otis got to. So Otis starts with the cat on the other, like he would, he would be like biting at the door to get at the cat. And it's just layer by layer of understanding that we get to a place where, oh, questions are coming in, where Otis can live with the cat. This is, this one I got to admit, I just laughed and laughed. We ask our students when they first come to recallers, and this is a great exercise for all of you listening to, is to make journal, a journal or video document things in a file where you're starting from when you're on your journey of dog training, because it'll help you be able to celebrate how far you've grown. So Louie was, is this the Louie video? Oh no, this is, this is a video who, of somebody who's actually a really good dog trainer and she has a border collie. This woman actually had got all kinds of metals in dog agility,

but she was, you know, everyone thinks, oh, it's a border collie. They're, they're easy to train. They're not all easy to train. And so she ended up with one that she's like, I can do, I had no problem with my other border collies, but this one's challenging me. So it's a little bit funny. You shouldn't laugh. I know, but it is kind of funny. Because, you know, in episode number three of, of the Connected Dog series, we talked about learning happens in the gap, which is what we were referring to is you can't like say cookie and move your hand and, and move and get the cookie all at the same time. There's gotta be a gap cookie, little gap, boom. Learning happens. We're giving our dogs that chance to connect the word cookie to the cookie company, but learning also happens in the gap between your education and where, where you want your dog to be. There is a big gap. So there was a big gap with, with Katie and Quest. And yes, there is a happy ever after story. There is a lot of fun stuff. There's a lot of fun stuff. There's a lot of fun stuff. There's a lot of fun stuff. There's a lot of fun stuff. There's fun stuff. There's fun stuff. There's fun stuff. There's fun stuff. There's fun stuff. you notice that um there was a record keeping sheet that katie was using we encourage and we we have a library in recallers we encourage people to um keep a journal of what they're doing and you you can do it on your own if you're not in recallers but you know have a having a strategic way to do it to plan out what 30 days might look like is going to is going to be super helpful for you so episode number three it was all about um the learning that happens in the gap episode numbers number three is where you were introduced to tree diving and the mechanics was difficult and it was i put that one little game in there that was more challenging mechanics just to help you understand getting things right exponentially helps your dogs learning and it was a great um it was a great episode for people after now they didn't say that's good enough after episode one they didn't say we're good enough after episode two they kept going so these are the some of the comments deb said so interesting to me that these games that seem unrelated to our issues have been helping my dog to be calmer throughout the day and more confident and focused i'm going to show you a video later on this afternoon um because i i i have mentioned when people say will recallers help me with my dog's behavior problems i am not going to pretend that recallers is the magic pixie dust that makes the

world all sparkly and perfect but i will tell you it massively contributes to moving through forward through behavior problems there's a dog you're going to see at the end of um this afternoon who was a horrific shadow chaser she chased shadows so much i mean it started with shadows on the ground her own shadow then it was a reflection of a watch then it was anything on the sky they had to live in complete darkness in their house they had um block out shades all the time and the dog was never allowed outside in the daytime that's how bad it became and i'll show you a video how how like behavior problems that one was fixed the behaviors themselves said it would be highly unlikely that they'd be able to fix it so so that that's what deb says things that like it doesn't seem possible that my dog is going to choose not to chase deer just because i'm playing a few games and you will see the clarity grow more and more and more with every game that you play melinda said the games are simple but it really is all about the mechanics and this is just episode three of of six in the connected dog gene said my takeaway is a dog's behavior is helping us to help them that was the big thing that we talked about on the live that we don't look at our dog's behavior as a judgment on who they are it's on it's on that the what they need from us right now early on it's unlikely that you really speak the same language as your dog or that your dog really speaks your language and it reminds me of when i was young my um my father's father father was a missionary and he um when my grandmother died in an accident he married a native canadian um cree woman who didn't speak english so when i would go to visit and i was named after her my middle name is christina after my grandmother she spoke cree i spoke english so it was very very frustrating she would tell a joke and of course her children understood and would laugh and i felt like the lone man out i did not feel safe not that i was being harmed but i didn't feel like i was part of the group because i didn't speak her language now i could have tried to learn her language but she also might be speaking to me or and i didn't know and i'd turn and walk away i would look like i was a belligerent little snot wouldn't i but the truth is i didn't speak her language and that's what the connected dog was helping everybody to see that there is a language that our dogs can learn from us and we can be respectful and learn their language as well and it's not going to be learned overnight

it's a process it's a process that requires curiosity first all right um so episode number four was the big it's your choice episode it's where we introduced or for some of you reintroduce the concept of gradually allowing the dog to make a choice that might be wrong and having the hand close on them and we do it in such intentional layers that they recover so quickly because of the value they know that's there for them it was all about um the power of permission and this is where the light bulbs start turning on for people and this is where people say i think my dog is trainable where i never thought my dog was trainable so i'm going to share a video with um again dog training problem tip of the iceberg and that was uh ray came to us with a his dog that was um just obsessed about bicycles like obsessed without bicycle about bicycles a lot of times that is based on fear could be emotion sensitivity especially that look like either a hurting breed or part hurting breed it could be a number of things that start it but depending on how it's handled or as most people think he'll outgrow it it just gets worse and worse and so it's just starting to understand and and speak the dog's language and help the dog we we counter condition just like pavlov we create a new trigger for those bicycles oh hi and so you can see even with the bicycles coming up behind it now that was our episode two and three we're all about creating environmental neutrality and and it's all about giving the choice to the dog not commanding the control you will watch me watch me that's what i was told to teach people back in the 80s watch me what and it was a you must watch me my dogs don't take their eyes off of me but it's never been taught it's just it's a it's a side benefit of teaching engagement engagement through games it's a side benefit of saying have i inspired you to want to pay attention to me if i haven't then there's other things i can be doing right and so that's how you go about tackling the challenges um i'm gonna share with you um anybody out there with a terrier i i will admit terriers are my first love i started with jack russell terriers i will always be a terrier at heart and so when i saw um lucy i i did bring back some memories because of all the labels that this poor dog not wasn't given by her owner but by other people so this is lucy's story it's interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting

마티넷(Martinette)이 4화 'It's Your Choice(선택은 네 몫이야)'에 남긴 글은 정말 멋집니다. 'It's Your Choice'를 적용하는 것은 완전히 다른 접근 방식입니다. 'It's Your Choice'는 최고의 게임 중 하나입니다.
to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting to have been interesting Oh, let's go! So that was a before and after in that one. But you saw, like, maybe you've been there where people say that it's a terrier, therefore it won't listen around live critters. It's a terrier, therefore it's going to be stubborn. It's a terrier, therefore you can't make it do anything it doesn't want to do. And all of these beliefs, we talked about the belief loop in episode number four, all of these beliefs that we create limitations for ourselves and for our dogs, and it's unnecessary. But it also kind of gets you off your hook because then you could get to where we're in episode number four and say, well, that's good enough. I have a terrier, so that's good enough. My expectations shouldn't be that high. But think about if you said at episode four, that's good enough. I'm just going to teach this party trick. It's your choice. I'm not going to try and integrate it into my life like this crazy hair woman says. But it's your dog who really suffers, right? You say it's good enough, therefore you don't have to go on to episode five of Connected Dog. But then what is your dog missing out? The missing out the chance for a little bit more freedom, a little bit more interactive game playing, a little bit more opportunity to explore new places if you say that it's good enough. So it's really cool that Martinette wrote on episode four, that was the It's Your Choice, all about permissions. She wrote, I'm growing as a human. I think the principles taught here are transferable to human relationships. My patience and kindness is being tested as well as my focus. Am I moving the puppy too fast? What is my puppy learning? How can I be better? I feel so hopeful. Andrea wrote, I am one of these people who always felt resistant when training my dog. Now I know it was because of the wrong training methods. Applying It's Your Choice is a completely different approach. And my four-year-old Healer Cross Sunshine and I just love this game. You can see sparkling in our eyes. It's building a relationship of clarity, respect, and kindness. I just love it when I read these comments on the videos. So again, this is episode four. It's Your Choice is just one of the best games. It's fun for the dog. It's fun for me.

It's simple. It's portable. And it's a game that you can grow. So when you say it was good enough at game three and you didn't even get to game four, what you're really saying is, I can't make you a priority right now. That's what you're saying to your dog. I just can't make you a priority. So this is good enough. And good on, not everybody got to game day four in the Connected Dog. So hearts to all of you who did and who went on to episode number five, which was all about trust the process. Because here's where a lot of you struggle. You might be like Finn, who is a hunting dog. I think Finn was a Brittany, I believe. Finn, come. Finn, come. So you could see that from a distance and that's what people say, how am I going to get my dog when he's 300 feet away? How can I get my dog to listen to me 300 feet away? It's the layers of learning. How well can we get your dog to listen three feet away? Like, is it 100% three feet away? That's what game day five was about. Trust the process. Play the games and trust the process. And this is part of Finn's progression. Finn, come. Go boy, buddy. To me. Whoa. Wait. Go boy. Look at that control. Like he came back and you could see that Finn wanted to leave again. And that is trusting the process. And there's other, I'm going to just share a couple more. So this is Lenka and a lot, I didn't mention where all these dogs are from. I wrote them down and then I didn't mention them, but they're from all over the world. So Lenka, I'm pretty, I'm guessing. I'll find out while you watch Lenka. Lenka. Okay. Lenka after. And so these are leash reactivity, or it could be like we've talked about before, husbandry. So trust the process. I can't cut my dog's nails. Trust the process. That's an, it's your choice opportunity. We're giving the dog consent. We're giving the dog the chance to say, I'm comfortable with what we're doing. Carry on. And this is Felma Parker. I believe this was her first dog. She would say the word that we hear a lot of times is I'm overwhelmed. Overwhelmed isn't being present to what you can do. What's within your control and just taking daily connecting actions. That was the theme of this whole series, daily connection with your dog. And then this is where Felma got. Good job. Get it. Nice. Nice video.

Nice. I got to a place with Parker where she could do her own grooming. And you could see that that puppy was relaxed with the grooming. That is trusting the process. And episode five is where we really, as I mentioned, we talked about the belief loop. We really dug down on what was holding you back in your own mind. For many people, good enough is a defense mechanism. Because if you keep moving forward, then what if you fail? And if you have a history of beating yourself up and believing that little voice in your head that tells you how you're not good at anything, then you're going to be in a place to be hurt. And that's why people are afraid to move forward. But if you're doing it in an environment where we are giving you that psychological safety, it's easy to move forward. In episode five is where we introduced you to kind of like a star of Recallers because she was so far gone is Jessie the Golden Retriever and her obsessiveness for cats. And where Clara was able to get her. And this is Clara who was in the video. This is the note she left on video five. And she said, I am simply amazed how many people are touched by our video. Before joining Recallers, I myself cried watching other Recaller videos. And I cried and cried again. For a whole year, I was wondering if those videos were real or a scam, but I got so desperate. And after I joined, and I joined after one year hoping that half of what those other older members were achieving would be a blessing to us. And here we are now. I never thought we would have this connection. It wasn't easy. There was a daily work behind it, serious planning, keeping score. Because remember, she lived in a village in that, that was like loose cats were everywhere. Feral cats everywhere. Keeping score many ups and equally heartbreaking downs. But with my Susan's five minute games, training is so much fun. Both Jessie and myself got addicted to playing each day. Even with Jessie now almost 10 years old, we're still playing games every day. Good luck to everybody. Recallers is tons of tools to achieve beyond what we did. You just keep your eyes on the goal and enjoy the road. I cried when I read that note from Clara, because she's inspired so many people with what she did from an, you know, an Eastern country, Eastern block country that the, I looked it up, the average wage annual salary is under 10,000 US dollars in that country. So Angelica on episode number five wrote, I like the layering system where if your dog fails, you just need to take a step back and repeat with less complexity, clarity.

Your series is amazing so far. You're a great communicator. Thank you, Angelique. You have a knack for explaining and showing concepts we have heard before, but hadn't been able to actually do. Thank you so much for making these videos. And, and Audrey wrote, I am just so grateful to found these resources. Although I already have a wonderful relationship with my dog. It's just so empowering to think of how much further we can go already. We have a big change in impulse control with just two days of playing the games and the connected dog. And she's so excited to play and having recently added a new puppy. I'm very excited to work her through this approach as well. And so I'm sharing these comments from the video from that was episode five, because I want you, I want it to remind you of where, of the episodes themselves, of the learning that you had, of the takeaways that you had. Here is again, the top of the iceberg, the behavior, the problems that you're having, that you're, people are trying to focus their solutions. So many trainers will say, I can fix that dog. That's barking at the cat. I can fix that in five minutes. If they're saying that, you know, they're not going to be doing things that are, that are what I would consider kind and compassionate. Right? So here is Nell. So, you know, a lot of herding breeds, working breeds, hunting breeds can walk a fine line between being in drive and being out of control. And Nell, across that line. Nell asks. I'm sorry that again, you shouldn't laugh, but I know that we can help with dogs like that. One more time. Here is, here is Nell laughing. And so that takes us to episode six because episode six is where we kind of combined all the games and helped you to see how the game within the game in Connected Dog, you didn't realize you were making the foundation of a hot zone where Nell was just quietly hanging out while the vacuuming was happening. Where you see my dogs just hanging out here while, while I'm teaching. That is, you were creating that in the Connected Dog series in when we got up to video six and you didn't realize you were doing it. So video six is we all said game on. And, and so it's an ultimate transfer of value, right? If you don't use your reinforcement correctly, the rewards, whether it be a toy for dog sports or a food for dog sports or food for dog, any family pet dog training, it becomes a bribe unless you are intentional about how you use it, which is why we are constantly reminding you of your mechanics. And so in episode six, it was all about bringing all those games together. So you could see how the layers,

how the layers came together in a very short, less than 10 days for some of you a week, for some of you, Audrey said two days, two days of playing. And she saw an incredible difference in the connection between her and her dog. Hilda wrote of episode six, Connected Dog series has taught me that I am the key. Interpretation practice modeling on my part will translate to my dog. Reinforcement, consistency, and practice will yield confidence with games to live, to live his best life. Thank you, Susan, for opening this door to me and my blue mix heel, in my blue healer mix. We have a long way to go, but I'm feeling so much more confident every step of the way. So we have, there were so many great comments. It was hard to just pick one or two to share with you about how the people playing the games, going through the Connected Dog could see the next layer adding to the one before. And that they didn't give up on game day four because it was harder. They didn't say, this is good enough. They kept moving forward because good enough is like stealing away your possibilities. And I'm going to share with you the video that I spoke about earlier with Maddie, the shadow chaser, who Leslie had tried everything to try and help Maddie. A few years ago, recallers gave me the tools to deal with her abnormal repetitive behavior of light chasing. Okay, so there's a longer video you can watch with Maddie where she shows all of the challenges that the dog was so obsessed with any kind of light. And here's where they ended up. And Lupin respects Maddie and gives her the space she needs. So she could be outside. She could be in a room where the lights could be turned off or on. She could be around a flashlight. And that was started with intentional layers of clarity that created a new focus for that dog. Am I promising you that every behavior problem that your dog would ever have is going to be fixed by recallers? Absolutely no. I'm not going to say that. If you have a serious behavior challenge, you need the help of a registered veterinarian behaviorist. However, all behavior can be improved by a deeper connection, will absolutely exponentially be improved by your understanding of your dog's language and by your dog's understanding of yours. By you having a deeper insight into how to create positive CERs. How you can not look at your dog's behavior as something he did and that that's who he is, but rather a way of him asking for help. Okay, there are some questions. I want to answer your questions before I go too far down the path here.

Um, so does all of this make sense? I'm going to grab some water. Is there any part of it you did that you said I didn't see the connection? Okay, so some of the questions that came in, can I play crate games and puppy games with an older dog? I have a five-year-old, a three-year-old, an 18-month-old, and six three-month-old puppies? Wowza. Three-year-old and an 18-month-old fight over food will crates help. Um, clarity helps. And, um, six three-month-old puppies. Wow. Um, so clarity will help. Um, you know, when you get, when you have a large number of dogs, the largest number of dogs I've ever lived with in my home was seven and I didn't like it. I loved each dog individually. It was when my now late husband and I first got together, we had seven dogs. And, um, because dogs are such a big part of my life, it, you have to take time with play with them individually. Yes, they do group activities, but you have to create the clarity individually. And so we have people that will go through recallers with four or five dogs at one time, but I always ask them to have one focused dog, one dog that is their main focus. And there may be a reason to have six, three-month-old puppies. Maybe, um, you're a professional dog trainer, or maybe you're training them on for, um, to be a guide dogs or, or, or, you know, service dogs. There's a lot of reasons why you might have them. However, you have to be very intentional about giving them individual, individual attention and individual work because they are not the same puppy. They are all individual puppies with all individual needs. And yes, you will see, um, anxiety occurring when you have larger groups that there, there isn't the clarity from you. The anxiety can turn to reactivity. The reactivity can turn to aggression. So you, you do have to be careful with that, but yes, you absolutely should be playing. And you, you've seen in a lot of these videos, um, Clara said she's, she's still playing, um, with her dog at 10 years old. So you, you never stop. You saw, I just played with swagger on, I mean, I don't play with him on camera very much anymore, but he, he gets in, he gets engagement and interaction every single day. Um, okay. 10 year old rescue that is reactive, but a high food focus started color grab, but he's not focused on the cookie. I know there's more coming, knows there's more coming. I'm not sure he's getting it. What do I do? He's, he is focused. He's so focused on the cookie. All right. So, you know, rather than doing 10 collar grabs in one session, I would do one collar grab in 10 sessions a day.

And then you have super high value cookies and you might walk by him. He doesn't know when it's going to happen. And then all of a sudden, boom, boom. So if the cookie is obvious, then you don't get that transfer of value and not saying never do two in a row, but if a dog is just looking for the cookies, then it's going to be more difficult. How do I go back and view the connected dog videos that I missed trying again? Um, so the connected dog series came, came down on the 5th of June and the series is now inside of recallers. So if you're planning to join recallers, that might be the first place to visit is go back and look at the connected dog. And for any of you who are thinking that should I join recallers? Obviously I'm going to say, yes, you should join recallers because I don't believe any, any of us are good enough with where we are with our dogs, a strategically layered out, laid out plan for you to give you that daily interaction, allowing you to learn your dog's language. Well, your dog learns you who, who shouldn't that be for? I got a question for you. This is a little, what is if, um, if you didn't have dogs right now and you were going to get a new puppy or a new rescue dog, what were the, what would be the must have pieces of equipment that you would need? Put it, put it in the chat, what you would think must haves non-negotiable. I must have these. I can think of maybe four. I mean, unless you're getting like a really long must have, so I'm not going to give anything away. So what are the must haves? Um, there was another sheet that I had more questions here. Must have pieces of equipment. Sally wrote leash, crate leash collar and bed. Those were my four, Sally. Ding, ding. Wavelength. Uh, a bed. Dog bed, of course. Um, yep. You could say, I would say an X-pen as well for me. Uh, collar leash bed. Training toys. Yeah. There's another good one. Okay. So why do we need a leash and collar? Why? Why do our dogs are, why do we get a new puppy or a new dog and we say we need a leash and collar? Why? Why? Why do we need a leash and collar? Why do we say, well, first thing you gotta do is get a leash and collar? So Sally says, so they don't get lost. Shane says, so we can control them. Well, uh, they aren't trained to keep them safe. So I think that is the number one reason for me. We have a leash and collar to keep them safe. So we are willing to invest in a leash and collar to keep our dogs safe. And then there's other things that we invest in non-negotiable leash and collar. Why isn't recallers a non-negotiable?

It's keeps your dog safe longer. It keeps them safe without them having to be tethered to you. It keeps them safe, but allows them more freedom to explore the world because they are connected to you anytime you need them. I mentioned this on the live last night. There, there was 35,000 people that went through part, some, all of the Connected Dog Series. 35,000. Well, 35,000 and change. Of those 35,000, 70% were either first time dog owners or they were here with a real challenge. 70%, which I'm guessing is around 25,000 people. And yet for some reason, after the Connected Dog, 99% of those 25,000 people are going to say, that's good enough. I don't need to join recallers. It's good enough. I know your life will change. I know your connection will keep deepening. All you see from my dogs here, from Tater Salah, the rescue dog, from the 13 month old puppy, it's all because of Recaller Games. That's all we do. And then we go on and do dog agility. So the people who need it the most, you've never owned a dog before. And we've got, there's virtually nobody else in the dog training world. You can't go into an in-person class and say, here's my money. I'm going to try this out for a month, but if it's not working out for me, you'll give me my money back, right? You can try recallers out for, try it for two weeks. If you're not sure you're good enough to do this with your dog. If you're not sure that you really need more than what you've got right now, you can try it for two weeks. And that's why I look at 25,000 people. And how do I know about 1%? Because that's what happens. We've been doing this since 2009. And the vast majority of the people who join recallers are the ones who are already doing some form of reinforcement-based dog training. And I love preaching to the choir, but I sure love helping dog owners who have never been exposed to this way of training before, because it's so much easier when you don't have to unlearn things. It's so much easier to help you solve your dog training problems when you're not focusing on the top of the iceberg. We're focusing on the bottom because it's the bottom that moves the iceberg along. The top just follows the bottom. All right. All right. So questions. Challenge with reactions to kids, scary and unpredictable. Will NIP, not exposed when puppy, we're not exposed to children when a puppy. Okay. Will these steps help in this? Looking at more serious callers, but don't want to, but can't have any biting. So yes. So something like an e-collar will suppress the

dog's drive to bite, but it won't take away their drive to bite. What we do is we consider the emotions of the dog and say, you have the right to have those big emotions, but we're going to help you never have them again. And you, how you help them as you, you minimize exposure and build up confidence. And so then you get environmental neutrality with children. That's the ultimate goal. And to go to a more serious collar is to blame a dog for their behavior and their behavior is just an expression of emotions. Imagine if, you know, as a child, I was incredibly shy. Actually my 23andMe DNA profile says, I'm more likely to be afraid of speaking in public. So nature, nurture. My nature is to be very, very shy. I would cry when I would walk into a room with strangers, if I had to talk to them, in a classroom, even to talk to the teacher. And if I was punished and spanked because I was shy, if I was told you will talk in front of us, how do you think I would be right now? There would be no connected dog series. There would be no recallers. There would be no Susan Garrett talking on video or standing in front of, I think, um, 15,000 people is the largest audience that I've spoke in front of. It wouldn't be happening. So we, if we punish a dog for their emotions by going to a stronger collar, we're saying, uh, your emotions are not important to me. I get it. Your children not getting bit absolutely has to be number one to you. I a hundred percent get it. And I'm not saying that we ever put children in a position where they could get bit. What I'm saying is we make sure we separate that and work on your dog's emotional state. Okay. Um, so our, our cocoa, what's our cocoa therapy? I shared the cocoa therapy from yesterday. Okay. No, the share winner from today is winning a, um, a tug toy from, for my murals. Um, so the tug toy from for, for the share winner from today, tug, tug, tug toy from for my murals. Easy for me to say goes to Catherine C Y C. A boom. Congratulations, Catherine. Question. I don't have a puppy yet. Should I wait to join the best time to join? Now, if you're getting a puppy a year from now, I would wait to join recallers. If you're getting a puppy in the next six months, this is the perfect time because you can go through all of the games, rehearse the mechanics. Ideally you have a friend with a dog. You can start playing some of the games with your friends, dogs, or go to a rescue, go to a local shelter, take a dog out, you know, and ask, is there a dog that maybe needs some engagement? And you could start playing. Like there's so much

you can do that you can prepare yourself before you get the dog. That would be ideal, ideal. So any, like that would be my number one wish is if everybody, before you got your puppy or your dog, you joined recallers and you learned all about it from that point of view. And so for those of you who've gone through the connected dog, you've got a glimpse, a glimpse of what we have for you, a glimpse of what recallers is. I'm going to show you just a little, let me see, I did take a picture. I'm not that techno, but when you go to recallers, this is what, oh, I got to get Donna's, Donna's question or comment off of there. Hold on. Here we go. So when you go to recallers, this would be what our, it's a custom built website. And if you notice the little orange circle with the white man there, I don't know if it's a man or a woman, let's call them, you know, neutral that, that is an accessibility tool that, that is, that means that my, my team has built into our program, the opportunity to learn. And so, and then you, you click on the, you know, and you can see that you can see that you can see that you can see that you can see that you can see that you can see that you can see in our program, because of the way we put out education for you to learn. We want to make sure that we make it as accessible as possible for everybody. So when you get in there, there's the, the, the different modules now, they won't all be open. They're open to me because I've done them all. And so, and then you, you click on module one, let's, this is game day four, and you'll see there's a video for you to watch. This one happens to be 11 minutes long. You can download quick tips that you can take to the site to play the game. If you want to print them out, or you can have them on your phone and download the playbook. And, and then once you've played it, you can take the quiz and then move on to the next game. And you can see also, there's all kinds of bonuses. We've got a library in there. So the library, because every year we have people who have different concerns. So I mentioned that we have this, this is a journal from a dog that I trained in 1998. It was a rescue dog. I was his third home. He was deemed a dud. He would never be good for sports. And this is a journal of all the training. And in the very back was, is a little note from his owners. So a decade later about Streaker. So you see the step-by-step of what I did. Now this was in 1998. It's amazing how similar what I do now, but it's obviously evolved to create so much more clarity for the dog. But these are

downloadable books that are in Recallers. This one is probably a favorite. I actually wrote this book. I'm not going to say the name of the publisher for a publisher to publish. It's all about transforming a dog that's either hyper-distractive or insecure into a dog that's more confident. So it's, it's each, whatever, whatever the dog needs. So we talk about tug drive, about injecting joy, transfer value. So I'm just, these are some of the books that are, that are in the library. So that is, we want people to have success. So where do people have challenge? I saw that there was a question. I'm going to find my other questions about tugging. And we actually have a, here it is. What if my dog won't tug? I'm worried that his lack of excitement for toys will make this program difficult. He's really shy, but we do some things for food and he's, and he gets nervous. Okay. That's from Jerry. Jerry, let me tell you, number one, you can do the entire program with food alone. But number two, we also have another classroom in Recallers. It's called the Tuggers Corner, where we help you teach your dog to love to tug, to tug when you want them to, when you ask them to, even if there's distraction by food. So I'm going to, I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. I'm going to take, first of all, I'll do the easy win. I'll take the puppy and I'm going to give her some really tasty cookies. And then I'm going to ask her to tug. Then I'm going to take the bulldog, the bulldog, the bulldog who, I don't know what he would tug when he came with, would he tug like occasionally, but not when you wanted them to. He liked to roll on the tuggies. Yeah. Rolling on the tug toys is his ultimate favorite. Okay. So I'm going to take a, I'm going to take the puppy and I'm just going to get a handful of cookies and I'm going to, who was at this? So, um, Swag, can you go get me that boy? Thank you. You can have that one. Can you go find the tunnel? Good boy. And I'm going to, do it. Good. So I've got cookies. Cookies are her favorite. Nice. Cookie. So I've given her cookies. Now I'm going to put the cookies down and I'm going to say, thank you. I'm going to put the cookies here right in front of her. Okay. Now I'm going to put the cookies there. Cookie. Tint. Get it. Okay. Can you have a tap? So good. All right. So, and so that is really testing. How well do they understand tug? Tater. Good boy. Get it. It's got her spit on it. Get it. Get it. Get it. Sting. Get it. Sting. Thank you. Catch. Catch. Tater. Get it. I want the cookies. So as soon as you get more cookies, it's all done. Excuse you. Come here.

Thank you. But, but, but they're getting cookies. Sit. Got it. Ah, the boy. That's a boy. Yeah. Such a good boy. Good boy. Oh, can you throw one to her please? Okay. So those are just, does your dog have to tug to two recolors? No. The, the terrier loved tugging until food came out. All bets are off. There's food. That's what I'm about. Tater kind of tugged. He referred to roll. I don't know if he'll do it. If he wants. He's. I think he's double jolly. Double jolly. Tater had life interaction with toys only when food wasn't around. Tater. And mostly that's what he wanted to do. Now we have anarchy. Oh, no. Oh, Tater's choking on his cookie. Okay. So, oh my gosh, that's so funny. I'll let Kim deal with. All right. Swagger, you don't need to get in the middle of that. I'll let Kim deal with that. So the puppy stole his toy, took off with it. And now she's shoving it in his face and trying to get him to chase her. It's so funny. Okay. So tugging is, tugging for some dogs is natural, especially like not all herding dogs, because he's pretty good at tugging. We'll have to do a demo with her. But not all dogs, but it's, it can be a learned skill as well. And so we have the classroom in Recall is called the tugging corner. My 90 pound love of my life, buddy pulls terribly. I do not want to end up hurt. I love our walks, but worry about being hurt. And there are dogs that I've showed you in our program that that's really one of the main tops of the icebergs that they came to us with was that they would not, they just pulled on leash, leash horribly. Right. And yeah, transfer of value, the games go into this, and then we just grow that understanding for you. So a hundred percent, I know that will get better for you. With you, with buddy. Marsha asks about reactive barking. Can you please address how to help a dog with reactive barking with other dogs? Have a Cavalier who is the sweetest dog until she sees another dog. Then she goes crazy. We did have an incident with a neighbor's lab that was behind an electric fence, came barking at her on a walk, ever since she's overwhelmed with other dogs. Again, that we need to create environmental neutrality for your Cavalier right now. She, especially there are a lot of dogs who have had horrible experiences with other dogs. So we need to number one, know where can we go that dogs are within our control. And believe it or not, one of the best places is a dog park. Listen carefully to this. I would never suggest anybody go inside a dog park, but it's a place you know that there will be dogs and there'll be a fence

so you can stay outside of it. Would never take my dog in there. Right. And so you can go at distances away from that fence and reinforce your dog for being in that environment. And that's what like, if you have the 40 recaller games, there's so many triggers that you can build positive CERs in different ways for being around other dogs. But if you have only cookies, that's all you got. Oh, here's some cookies. Do you see the different arousal state with the dogs when I asked them to tug? And that allows them to be in the presence of other distractions. And it allows us to create environmental neutrality because eventually cookies are just, you know, not as exciting. Yeah. That's a good time. Go to the dog park at midnight. Oh, well, if that's, that could be a problem. If there's off leash dogs outside of the fenced in area, don't go to there. I personally go to children's baseball games and I go and, um, they'll there's often Hills somewhere, not like an outfield in the outfield. So I can, with this, I was at a big distance and a nice, I just built that. But again, I took this there and I played every single one of our 40 recaller games in one form or another, not every time I went, but I went two or three times a week and played different recaller games. And till I got that environmental neutrality with children, with dogs, with men, those were her three big triggers that she would react to. Okay. So it's, I mean, I'm hoping this time around the people with brand new dogs and brand new puppies, I'm hoping you're going to be different that you're not going to wait until you get into a, you're not going to say this is good enough and I'll just read a book or I'll scroll YouTube and find solutions for my, I'm not, I don't actually have to invest in this recallers program because the time that you're spending scrolling for YouTube, worst thing that could happen is that not just you're wasting your time, but that you're going to see something and teach it. And it's exact opposite of what your dog needs. And so it isn't just that you're saving some money that you think of any challenge. I, I, I, one day we're going to have a pet insurance companies on board to give people who join recallers lower rates, because this is what I know. Dogs who have a better connection to the human dogs who are engaged every day are less likely to have avoidable veterinarian bills than dogs who are not. So I'm talking about dogs hit by car, eating foreign bodies, getting into dog fights, being poisoned because they ate something they shouldn't have, pancreatitis because they got into

the garbage. All of these things, one trip to one trip to the, to the veterinarian for one of those problems is probably going to start at a thousand dollars and go up from there. Now your recallers investment looked really, really, really good. And not only that, it gave you a plan that you could create this amazing connection with your dog. And especially if you've got a new dog for the next 16, 20, or if you're lucky to be, and not like the longest living dog alive, 31 years old. So that small investment at the beginning is going to pay dividends down the road. And you can Google Susan Garrett's recallers, and you will find 10 years of people saying what an amazing difference it's made in their dog's life. Oh, I remember when I bought my first online program, that's what I did. I Googled the person's name and if they were a scam and I was so terrified, but you have, you know, this, this umbrella. So it's about saying that, um, I have a leash and collar because I want to keep my dog safe. I want to grow that safety without a leash and collar. This is the next logical choice. Let's see if there's, if there's any other questions for me before I sign off, go to recallers.com, uh, recallers.com forward slash join. And there will be a page with more of our student stories that you can look through. There'll be a video, a short video of about 20 minutes that explains in more detail, what the next year of your dog's life is going to be like with myself and my coaches helping you through the program. There's a little live chat at the bottom. If you have questions and you don't feel comfortable asking me here on live three on a live stream, you can ask somebody on my team will answer personally right there. What was that Kim? Um, one lady said in your example, the children, did she only get better from the distance? With this? With the kids, um, I don't know. So will the dog who wants to nip at children? I mean, there's, what are, is it just the presence of the child that, that creates the trigger or is that the children moving? I mean, there's just so many ways to diagnose it, but what I would do is I would keep your dog and your children separated right now and that you're going to maybe allow, I'll give you a reverse example of my sister's son who is terrified of my dogs. And so we did the reverse of that. My dogs were in a kennel and could he like open the door, look at the kennel, close the door and then run into the kitchen and then we reinforce them. And so build that up by the end of the day,

the end of that night, he could sit on the couch and throw cookies into the kennel with the door open. So it's just gradual progressions, keeping everybody safe. You're not, you know, like so many people, if they have a dog who's afraid of children or a dog who are afraid of people, they force the dog to take a cookie from the child or the man. Oh, nay, nay. No. If I don't feel happy being 20 feet away, why are you wanting me to go right up there to take a cookie? Oh, nay, nay. Is that dog going to be breathing? Even if they will take the cookie, you've got a 50-50 chance. They'll either take the cookie, ignore the cookie, bite the child. So I guess that's 33, 33, 33. Where's the dog comfortable? Build positive CERs. Don't put them over threshold. Don't make them go close to something that they're afraid of right now. Respect their emotions and build from that, right? How many people have done Recallers since it started? Oh my gosh. Well, I honestly don't know, but I'm sure it's well over 10,000 people. I honestly don't know the answer to that one. Because 2009 was when we started Recallers. So, it's 2009. That's 14 years ago. So, yeah. I would say it's a lot of people. I've never been asked that question before. So, but definitely, way over 10,000 people have gone through the program. Well, this video will be available. The summary, the Connected Dog summary will be available for you. Yes. And if somebody on the team put the link in for people to join, I can put that on the screen. But I don't see a link. So, if somebody would, that would be grand. Yeah. This was a great comment from last night. It works out to less than $1.40 a day. It is US. And I recognize, just like Clara with Jesse, that in a country where the average salary was less than $10,000 US a year, the investment for her was quite substantial. But look at what she got in return. She got her dog living a great life. When we reached out to her and asked her if we could show that video clip in the Connected Dog, she actually sent us a picture because she was at a cafe and her dog was just loose under the table and there were cats everywhere. So, when you make $10,000 US a year as an average salary, I'm not saying that that's what she made. I'm saying that's the average salary of her country. I honestly don't know. It was a massive investment for her. So, it is US funds because it's an accepted currency all over the world. And the value we've put it at $4,000. With all of the extra books and the extra courses we have in there, it's not like smoke and mirrors $4,000. It actually is worth $4,000.

Recallers.com 슬래시 join입니다.
And we have kept it at $500 for like at least 10 years. Okay. So, I am going to... There we go. Recallers.com forward slash join. Yes, all of us have those stories where I paid $150 for four sessions and didn't get anything out of it. The great thing is you have the opportunity to try it, to download some of the books. Not all the books in the library are open on the first week you get there. We don't want to overwhelm you. There's a lot of things that you can go in and see and download and video and play and practice. And then say, okay, I've already got my value from this and I'm only one weekend. And so, it's a no brainer. It takes away that buyer's remorse. There will be no buyer's remorse because you'll know this is the right place for me and my dog. These are my people. Alumni, what we do for alumni. I don't know if you saw the screen. There was a little alumni. There's like a secret passage for alumni. They have even newer, they have different games, more challenges and alumni. So, you go through every game, but every game has been grown and we don't charge you the same full price. It's actually less than half for any year you want to come back. Okay. Sarah said, we paid $1,500 to some balance trainers and it worked for a few years, but we didn't like using the e-caller. So, we're back to square one. Sarah, I really would love to see you in Recallers because it sounds like you're my people. Do, yes, we do. We do Crate Games and Recallers and it's maybe not, it's not as robust as the Crate Games online, but we teach you all the skills that we, that we, that you need to know for Crate Games to be effective part of your life moving forward. So, there is, it does go into more layers in the Recallers or the Crate Games online, but absolutely, it's a brand new videoing of it in Recallers. Okay. I'm looking, looking, looking. I think I've answered them all right now. So, if I didn't answer your question, then you can re-ask it and otherwise, I'm going to sign off and I will be back on tomorrow night. But I want to remind you, tomorrow's the last chance to sign up, to be part of the registration. Can someone not on Facebook see the replay? Sue, I believe what my team does, well, first of all, they can watch it on YouTube, but yeah, that's what I would do. I would give them the link to our YouTube page and this replay will be available on, on YouTube. How much time today can be effective? That's a great question. How much time would it take per day to be effective? I like to encourage

people to do really, really short sessions and connect it to something that you're doing every day. So, plan you like at night, just before you go to bed or when you're in bed, watch the video of tomorrow's game, print out the handouts or it put, you know, keep them on your, your tablet or your iPhone or your, whatever. I just said that I used an iPhone, your, your phone. I don't know. So do all that the night before. And then for the next day, you might plan three games, one session of your new game and one session of a game that you've done in the past that you don't feel you really did do, did it justice. And one that you and your dog love, love, and it's easy. You can do it. So you might be fine that by game day 10, you've got five or six recaller games that you're just doing as part of your, part of your day, like we do just part of our day to do these games. But at first you're just intentionally going to bring one in. And so you might say, um, before I go to work, I got 90 seconds. I'm going to play a game then. So that might be one that you've already know the mechanics and you're just going to either reduce one that you like or practice one that you haven't got quite right. And then the last thing at night or when you're brushing your teeth or when you've put your coffee on whatever those triggers are that you can build in a game, that's ideal. And then like, if you know, you have, if you ever went to a local dog training class, like you have to be there at six o'clock or at seven o'clock. Well, that doesn't always work out for your schedule. If you have to work late or it, you know what you're going on their timetable, you book an appointment with yourself every day. My wheelhouse for me is about five in the morning. That's when that's my time. So from five till seven, I could do, I could put training in there at any point. Now, if you are in a home where other people are sleeping, then that maybe is not the best time, but just book an appointment and don't make it so like a lot of people say, oh, I can't go to the gym because I could do my, like my 20 minute warmup. And then I got my 40 minutes of cardio. And then I got my 40 minutes of lifting and I don't have two hours. So if you think of it that way, you're not going to do anything. And I don't want you to think of it that way. I want you to think of it as daily connection. If you can do three one minute sessions, we're way ahead of the game. And maybe on Saturday, you spend a little bit more time on the learning. So, or you can do two

one minute sessions and one that's going to be like 10 minutes or five minutes. You're never going to train your dog for 10 minutes. You're going to be learning in 10 minutes. So the training of the dog, the interactive games, they're not going to take more than one to three minutes. Okay. That was a great, great question. Thank you. And yeah, Anthea says, you know, where do we play these games? Kitchen, living room, where do we want our dog to, where do our dog feel safe? That's the first place we play. So it might be your bedroom and it might be your living room and it might be the kitchen, but the kitchen might be a slippery floor, might not be a good plan. So we encourage you to set up, when you get into Recallers, you'll see, we'll give you the instruction on how to set up a training den and you can start there and then you take it on the road. Meaning you go to your living room, bedroom, bathroom, out backyard is the big, that didn't go well. Get back in your living room. That's safety and security. Yeah. Let's play it some more in the kitchen, in the bathroom and then go back in the backyard. Hey, that didn't go so swell. That was pretty good. Then you might go to the front yard and then, so that's how we're going to play the games. Okay. Kathy, welcome to Recallers. And Kathy joined on Monday and here it is Wednesday and she's glad that she joined. So that's awesome. Trisha says, I have two dogs, a one and a half year old male and a five month old male Doberman who I feel need training. The puppy is super smart and quick to pick things up. His dad is not. How do you handle training two dogs with this kind of situation? Trisha, trust me, both your dogs are super smart because I know Dobermans. I've lived with them. They are brilliant dogs. But what we want to do is separate them either by, like you saw me training my dogs. So one will be in a hot zone and I'll train and that can be part of the training. Initially, you might have to like put one dog in another room. Now, if the dog in the other room starts barking and carrying on because they want to train, we don't want that. We don't want to create anxiety and stress. I mean, it's great that they love to train with you, but what we want to do is so maybe if it's cool out, you can put your dog in a crate in the car and give them a bone to chew on until it's their turn. And eventually you can have what we have and that you can just have one dog, it's your turn. And then I trade off and now it's your turn and now I trade off and now it's your turn. All right. So you absolutely will go

through with both dogs at the same time. Should I reduce food intake with the amount of cookies you're using? So what you want to do is try to use your daily food as part of your treats and mix in other treats in that. Because what you don't want to do, especially if you have a new puppy, use like some really, really yummy, yummy treats for all of your training and then go to feed them the regular food. And then we're going to go, why would I eat that? I get, I want the other stuff. I like the other stuff better. So we want to keep up their appetite. So you're going to use a mixture and inside recolors. We talked to you about mixing up the value using lower value rewards for easier games or higher value rewards when it's a higher distraction area. So, so yeah, you, you are going to build in that ration. Okay. And Fred Watson, I started recolors 10 days ago when we got her at 10 weeks, a bit overwhelming, but she's learning lots. Thanks, David. Thank you for the feedback, David. That's awesome. Do I need a bed like the ones that you have off the floor? You don't. I tell people it's really great if your dog beds have sides. So even if you buy a cardboard, buy, go to the grocery store, get an old cardboard box and put a towel or a blanket in it. That's good to go. I'm being told homeschool the dog is part of recolors. Is that true? No homeschool the dog is a completely different course. It's not available at this time. It's a much smaller, less robust version. So it's not, it doesn't have, it's got a few of the games that are in the connected dog that you've already played. Those are already in homeschool the dog, but they are two separate courses. They are not related. I mean, they're related in that we're training our dogs and their games, but they are not, one isn't part of the other. I'll need to use filet mignon for my distracted pup. What we do, Michelle, is we make sure that we train that distracted pup in an environment that is free of distraction. Safety first, create that clarity, and then you can go to lower level reinforcement. You might need higher value cookies, but if you're training on leash and you're playing games of engagement, you'll find very, very quickly the dog will go, I like this. I like playing these games. Yes, you can download all of the PDFs onto your tablet. Mine on my iPhone, it saves it in file. So I'm not sure it depends on the kind of files that you have. Mary, if this is possible, absolutely the best course of action is to join Recallers first because of the intensity of the coaching you get, because of the other courses that are in there for you.
