자, 여기 강아지와 절대 해서는 안 될 세 가지 행동, 즉 세 가지 금지 사항을 알려드리겠습니다. 세 번째는 강아지를 데려온 첫날부터 부르는 훈련(recall)을 해서는 안 된다는 것입니다. 제가 지금 강아지에게 부르는 훈련을 가르치지 말라고 말씀드리는 게 이상하게 들리시나요? 물론 누구든 그냥 강아지를 부를 수는 있죠. 문제는 강아지가 오지 않았을 때 어떻게 할 것인지, 그리고 강아지가 왔을 때 대처할 준비가 되어 있는지, 또 보호자로서 어떤 기술이 필요한지입니다. 만약 그저 이름만 계속 부른다면, 강아지는 올 수도 있고 안 올 수도 있습니다. 만약 안 온다면 어떻게 될까요? 그래서 부르는 훈련은 저희가 말하는 '레벨 2' 기술에 해당합니다. 왜냐하면 제대로 된 부르는 훈련을 하려면 세 가지 기술이 결합되어야 하기 때문입니다. 강아지를 막 데려온 시점에서는 이것이 최우선 순위가 아니라고 생각합니다. 하지만 다른 기술들을 먼저 갖추고 나면, 세상에서 가장 완벽한 부르는 훈련이 가능하다는 것을 알게 되실 겁니다. 다른 기술들을 먼저 익히는 것이 중요합니다.
So here are the three X's for the stuff that you do not want to do with your puppy. Number three is you do not want to recall your puppy day one. Now isn't that crazy that I'm telling you right now do not teach a recall to your puppy because of course anybody can just recall their puppy. Now the question is what happens if the puppy does not come and are you prepared if he does come and what skills go into a recall from your side because if you're just calling out names and your dog has a chance to come or to not come and if he doesn't what's going to happen. So everything into a recall is what we call a level two skill because you will see a combination of three skills if you're going to train a recall and to me that is not your first priority if you just got a puppy but you will see that you will have the best recall ever if you possess the other skills first.
