Objective: To run a Social media challenge that aims to gather information and explore the potential for future citizen science research on canine vocal imitation ability. …But don’t forget… To have fun engaging in some activities with your dog! Participation steps!

1. Record a video Capture a video of your dog imitating any vocal sound, environmental noise, animal sounds, etc. It’s a freestyle challenge, so get creative! Ensure the video is less than 1 minute long. Please, do not include music and do not edit the sound
2. Upload video Post the video on your social media account (Instagram & Facebook). Use the hashtag #DoasidoWoofChallenge in your post and tag doasidoofficial.
3. Share your story If you want, add a brief description of your dog and the sound they are imitating. Important: Do not forget to tag doasidoofficial , and use #DoasidoWoofChallenge to ensure your entry is seen by the research team! Join the fun Encourage friends and family to participate and share their videos. Let’s discover the amazing vocal talents of our furry friends together! Duration: July 23th to December 31st, 2024 This is a project co-organized by the Do as I Do Team, the K9VocLearn Project and the Family Dog Project research group. Eligibility: Open to all dog owners worldwide (your dog does not need to be trained with the Do as I do method). Participants must have a public social media account to ensure their entries are visible to the research team. If you are underage, you need your parent’s approval to enter. Winners: All winning videos will be featured on the official Do as I Do webpage for one year! Research Team’s Pick: A special selection by the research team for scientifically interesting entry. Do as I Do Team’s Pick: Chosen by the Do as I Do team for a remarkable video (in this category we will select only among certified Doitters).
