all right guys in this episode i'm going to be giving you my review on the popo gold school so if you haven't heard the uh the other review was silver review and i also did a uh a second interview with michael and barbalon um kind of like a follow-up of the silver school review and i haven't done a gold review yet but i have attended the purple gold and i figured it'd only be fair to give my experience my perspective on gold school so here it is now some of you guys may have gone to gold school some of you guys might not even be familiar with napopo um there are uh you know there are definitely resources out there if you go to uh the martin system website or or the barbalone website uh you'll find some information on there uh there are other nepo students from the popo gold graduates that have online courses as well that they they detail out the you know the whole nepopa system and to give you a little bit of a brief summary into what nippopo is it's a system that utilizes operant and classical conditioning in a fashion that makes the dog the architect of its own training basically it's the dog's idea we want it to be the dog's idea so that the learn the learned behavior so the behaviors that we teach them are performed with heart and soul okay so that's in a brief nutshell what the nepopo system is you know and there's definitely like i said there are students or graduates uh nepal graduates that have outlined it uh in a course i don't have that uh maybe i will in the future but i don't have that uh in my course yet i am gonna touch on here and there through the uh through the online videos that i have on uh you know on the website on dog training it's mypassion.com if you go to virtual learning i have an exclusive video content library that you can pay for and you can have access to it these videos are not on youtube uh they're only through the website and i will in the future have some of the popo content on there as of right now i want to get i want to get my you know my hands wet in the practical aspect of it as of right now i feel like if i give you my take on a purple through you know how to videos and stuff i don't feel like like it would be of much service to to to my subscribers i want to you know i want to put in the hours with the system myself so that when i do bring it i do have plenty of experience plenty of troubleshooting and how to's that i can bring to people who subscribe to that video library so that will come up at some point and depending on when you're listening to this it might already be there but as of right now not quite so that's pretty much what the popo is okay it's uh it's a system that you know the popo stands for

부정적-긍정적-긍정적(Negative Positive Positive)을 의미하는 이중 보상 시스템입니다 이는 고전적 조건형성과 조작적 조건형성을 활용하여 개들이 행동을 학습하도록 돕고 그 행동이 진심으로 우러나와 수행되도록 하는 방식입니다 저희는 이 과정을 고전적 조건형성과 조작적 조건형성을 통해 진행하며, 핵심은 개 스스로가 하겠다고 생각하게 만드는 것입니다. 강아지에게 무언가를 가르칠 때 보면 아시겠지만 때로는 매우 어렵기도 합니다 강아지가 열정적이고 자연스럽게 행동하도록 만드는 게 말이죠. 어떤 행동은 가르치기 쉽지만 어떤 행동은 강아지가 약간 까다롭게 굴어서 사람 입장에선 '아니, 얘야' 하는 생각이 들죠 그러니까 평소에는 아주 잘하면서 막상 내가 시키면 왜 이렇게 못할까 싶고 바로 그 지점이 핵심입니다 강아지가 스스로의 훈련을 설계하는 건축가입니다 그들은 마음과 영혼을 다해 해낼 것입니다 그래서 시스템은 그것을 중심으로 돌아갑니다 좋습니다, 이제 제가 학교에 대한 제 관점을 말씀드리겠습니다 실버(Silver) 과정에 대해 조금 말씀드리자면, 만약 여러분께서 만약, 만약 아직 아직 실버 과정에 대한 리뷰를 보거나 듣지 않으셨다면 꼭 확인해보시길 권합니다. 또한 바트(Bart)와 마이클 발론(Michael Bellon)과의 인터뷰도 몇 개 가지고 있는데 두 번의 별도 인터뷰입니다 그분들과 진행한 것이니 한번 확인해보세요. 왜냐하면 그 인터뷰를 통해서도 그들 시스템에 대한 관점을 얻으실 수 있을 테니까요 자, 그럼 정말 훌륭한 인터뷰들입니다 이제 다시 말씀드리지만, 네팔(Nepal) 학교의 후속편을 말씀드리겠습니다 이것은 골드(Gold) 과정입니다 네, 그래서 골드 학교는 또 다른 또 다른 한 주였고 그리고 정말 즐거웠습니다. 정말로요, 정말 저에게는 깨달음의 순간들로 가득 찼던 시간이었습니다 첫 번째 주인 실버는 이론 과정으로 정말 많은 그렇죠, 교실 수업 시간이 많았고 읽을 거리도 많았습니다 그냥 의자 끝에 앉아서 계속 의자 끝에 앉아 그저 듣고, 말씀해주시는 모든 것을 습득하고, 많은 필기를 하고, 호텔에 돌아가서 다시 공부하면서 그 내용을 복습해야 했습니다 왜냐하면 다음 날을 위해 정보를 기억해둬야 했기 때문이죠 필기 시험을 치르다 이제 골드 스쿨은 훨씬 더 실습 위주였습니다 여전히 어느 정도 이론은 있었고 여전히 우리가 배운 많은 것들이 있었지만 그건 아주 훌륭한 실습 위주여서 좋았습니다. 니포포 교육의 아주 훌륭한 후속 과정이었죠 교육 먼저 이론을 배우고 그 다음엔 전부 적용하는 것이었죠 우리는 다양한 개들을 볼 수 있었고 다양한 개들이 어떻게 하는지 볼 수 있었어요 기질이 다른 다양한 유형의 개들 말이죠 각기 다른 목표를 가지고 그냥 이런 행동들을 수행하도록 하는 것이었죠. 한 학생이 있었는데 저는 그게 굉장히 야심 차다고 생각했어요 음 학생들을 위한 목표가 무엇이었는지 말이죠 그 목표라는 것은 바트와 마이클이 이야기했던 것으로 바트가 그 학생에게 말했어요 그 학생은 오스트레일리안 셰퍼드를 데리고 있었는데 아주 괜찮은 오스트레일리안 셰퍼드였고 그 훈련사는 좋은 훈련사였어요. 그녀의 개가
negative positive positive it's a double reward system that again utilizes classical operand conditioning to teach behaviors that so that they're performed with heart and soul and we do this through classical and operant conditioning and the dog it's the dog's idea okay and when you teach a dog to do something you'll notice sometimes it's very difficult to get them to do it so you know so enthusiastically and naturally some behaviors are easier to teach than others and some you the dog kind of gives you a little bit of a hard time and you're going man like you can do this very well but when i when i want you to do it you don't do it very well and that's the key right there is when the dog is the architect of its own training they will do it with heart and soul and so the system revolves around that all right so i'm going to give you my perspective on the school so a little bit of on silver if you haven't if i if you haven't uh if you haven't watched or heard the the review on silver i recommend you go check it out i also have a couple of interviews with bart and michael ballon two separate interviews uh with them go check it out because that will also give you their perspective on their system okay so they're great interviews and now again i'm gonna give you the sequel to the nepal school and this being gold okay so the gold school was another another week and now i enjoyed it it's just it's just so it was so full of aha moments for me first week which is silver is theory it's a lot of a lot of uh you know a lot of class classroom time a lot of reading uh just a lot of sitting at the edge of your of your chair just you know listening picking up everything that is that you're told taking a lot of notes studying back you know back at the hotel and then remembering that information for the next day because every day you had to take a written test now gold school was much more hands-on there was still some theory there was still a lot of stuff that that we learned but it was a lot of hands-on which was great it was a great great sequel to the nepobo schooling you know first theory then just all application uh we got to see different dogs uh we got to see how different dogs um different temperaments different types of dogs with you know different goals just perform these behaviors there was this one student and i thought it was very ambitious what um you know what what the goal was for the students and and the goal was that this is something that that uh bart and michael talked about and bart told the student uh she had an australian shepherd and very nice australian shepherd and the trainer good trainer you could tell her dog was

가르친 행동들을 하는 것을 아주 즐거워한다는 걸 알 수 있었죠 그러니까 좋은 훈련사에 아주 좋은 개였는데 그 과제는 월요일도 아니었고 화요일이었던 것 같은데 그녀에게 주어진 과제는 바트가 그녀에게 말하기를 우리가 원하는 건 이겁니다 당신의 개가 이 작은 프레첼을 개 목걸이에 매달고 있는 것이죠 반려견은 반드시 식별해야 합니다 올바른 냄새를요. 그러니까 바닥에 놓인 여러 벌의 재킷 중에서 말이죠 반려견은 올바른 재킷을 찾아내야 했는데 어떤 게 올바른 재킷인지는 탐색 시작 시점에 결정되었습니다 그래서 개에게 병에 든 냄새를 맡게 하고 좋아요, 개는 병 속의 냄새를 맡은 뒤 그 냄새와 일치하는 재킷을 찾아서 병 속의 냄새와 연결하는 것이죠 그리고 표식(bristle)을 물고 핸들러에게 돌아와서 올바른 재킷을 찾았다는 신호를 보내고 그 다음에 핸들러를 해당 재킷이 있는 곳으로 안내하는 것입니다 수많은 재킷들 중에서 말이죠 이것이 그 개에게 주어진 목표였고 금요일까지 완수해야 했습니다 그리고 이것이 화요일에 과제로 주어진 것이었죠 그렇군요 지금 말씀하시는 게 단 4일 만에 4일이라니 바트가 그 말을 했을 때 저는 '오, 와, 저건' 속으로 '정말 야심 차구나, 정말 도전적인 목표네'라고 생각했던 게 기억나요 그때는 개가 어떻게 하는지 아직 모르는 상태였거나 혹은 전혀 하고 있지 않았을 때니까요 화요일에 과제를 받았을 때 그 개는 아시다시피 개가 이전부터 계속 해오던 일이 아니라 한 번도 해본 적 없는 새로운 것이었거든요 그리고 학생은 아시다시피 뭐랄까 와, 알겠어요. 어떻게 될지 지켜보죠. 그리고 우리는 모두 이런 느낌을 받았어요 정말 믿을 수 없다는 듯이요 어, 정말 얼마나 많은 부분이 실제로 일어날까 하고요 하지만 그 학생은 매우 열정적이었고 매우 헌신적이었으며 분명히 훌륭한 트레이너였어요 어 도전을 받아들였고 금요일까지 해냈어요. 그리고 분명히 매일 우리는 훈련 중이었기 때문에 훈련장에 있었죠 훈련 건물 안에서 하루에 세 번 정도요, 맞죠? 하루에 세 번 최소한 그렇죠, 하루 종일 최소한 세 번은 했죠 하루 종일 최소한으로요 그리고 음 분명히 이건 개가 연습할 기회였고 우리는 모두 거기에 있었어요. 마치 우리가 모두 그곳에 있었죠. 한 번에 한 학생만 있는 게 아니라 우리 모두 그곳에서 서로 다른 것들을 작업하고 있었어요 그리고 그 학생은 이 과제를 연습하고 있었고요 우리는 각자 다른 것들을 연습하고 있었죠 그리고 그 학생은 이 과제를 연습하고 있었고 우리는 다양한 것들을 연습하고 있었어요. 비강제식 포스 페치(unforced force fetch), 박스 작업 어, 음 어 그 볼 런처 그리고 블라인드나 짖기, 페데스탈, 어, 냄새 탐지 등 우리는 정말 많은 것들을 하고 있었어요 그래서 그 학생은 그 시간 동안 그걸 해내고 있었죠 그래서 그 학생은 그것을 해내고 있었어요 그 시간 동안에요 그리고 금요일, 그녀가 해냈을 때를 기억해요. 정말 경이로웠고 매일매일 매일매일 알다시피 바트와 마이클이 우리에게 피드백을 주곤 했죠 피드백 하지만 매일 그녀는 피드백을 받았어요 어떻게 진행해야 할지 알고 있는 어느 정도 진행할 수 있는, 적어도 제가 본 것은 바로 그거였어요 그리고 정말 정말
just very very happy to do uh the things that it that that she taught it so good trainer very nice dog and the the assignment and this wasn't even monday i think it was tuesday the assignment that she was given was we want you to this is what barr said to her you know for uh for your dog to uh have this little uh pretzel hanging off your dog's collar your dog has to identify the right odor so basically a bunch of jackets on the floor the dog had to identify the right jacket which was in the right jacket was determined at the beginning of the search so she would be given an odor in a jar okay the dog would smell the odor of the jar and then match the corresponding jacket to the odor in the jar and grab the bristle come back to the handler with the principle indicating that i found the right jacket and then bringing the handler back to the jacket to the proper jacket out of a number of jackets this was the goal that was given to her to complete on friday and this was given to her as a task to complete on tuesday okay you're talking about just four days four days and when bart said that i was like oh wow that's i remember thinking to myself that's very ambitious she was very ambitious though it doesn't the dog doesn't know how to do that yet or the dog is not doing that when when tuesday was given the assignment the dog had no you know it wasn't like the dog had been doing that for some time the dog had never done this before and the student was you know like wow okay we'll see what happens and we all kind of had this incredibles look like a come on how much of that is actually going to happen but the student very committed very dedicated and obviously a good trainer uh took on the challenge and by friday it was done and and obviously every day because we were trained we're in the training building like three times a day right three times a day at least right three times a day throughout the entire day at least and um obviously this is an opportunity for the dog to practice and we're all there like we're all there it's not like one student at a time we're all there working on different things and the student was working on this task we're working on a bunch of different things the the unforced force fetch box work uh the uh the the ball launcher and with the blind or the barking the pedestal uh scent detection we're just doing a bunch of things and so this student is getting it done during that time and friday i remember when she did it it's just fascinating and every time every day you know bart and michael will give us feedback but every day she got some feedback onto you know how to sort of proceed at least that that was what i saw and it was very very

매우 흥미로웠죠 이 개가 전혀 해본 적 없는 상태에서 여기까지 해내는 걸 보는 건 금요일에 특정한 냄새가 담긴 병이 하나 있었는데 개가 그 병 쪽으로 가서 올바른 재킷을 찾아내기 위해 탐색을 했어요 재킷을 물고 가져와서 핸들러를 올바른 재킷으로 안내했죠 뭐, 그 직후에 보상을 받았어요 그게 뭐 대단한 수색은 아니었어요, 그러니까 개가 넓은 공간에 있어서 재킷이 엄청나게 많이 있었던 것도 아니었고요 짧은, 아주 아주 짧은 거리의 수색이었죠 하지만 그 개가 그걸 이해했다는 사실은 작은 규모임에도 불구하고 매우 인상적이었어요 그래서 그게 첫 번째였고 어, 다른 것도 있었는데, 제가 정말 음, 아주 아주 좋아서 많은 걸 얻었던 또 다른 일은 제 개 싱코(Cinco)를 데리고 갔을 때였어요 이번 에피소드에서 싱코에 대해서도 조금 이야기하려고 해요 어, 싱코는 지금 16개월 됐어요 그리고 제가 골드(Gold)에 데려갔을 때는 아마 14개월, 아니 13개월쯤 됐을 거예요 하지만 지금은 16개월이고 싱코는 하는 걸 좋아해요 하루 종일 물기 훈련(bite work)을 할 수 있죠 물기 훈련에 미쳐있는 건 아니고 그냥 하고 싶어 하는 정도예요 물어뜯는 것에 있어서 그는 그런 개들 중 하나가 아니에요 그는 러스트 같지 않아요 러스트는 확실히 그냥 물고 싶어 하는 편이죠 음, 그는 '그래, 물게. 나는 무는 걸 좋아해' 이런 편이에요 하지만 싱코가 가진 특징은 싱코는 약간 졸음이 많은 편이라는 거예요 그는 조금 느긋한 편이에요 흥분해서 활발하게 뛰어다니고 열정적으로 굴기도 하지만 금방 지쳐버려요 그리고 싱코에 대해 또 한 가지는 음식이 딱 적당히 동기부여를 해준다는 거예요 그리고 저는 그에게 간식을 주지 않아요, 알겠죠? 음식이 딱 적당히 동기부여를 해주고 장난감도 그에게 동기부여가 딱 적당히 돼요 그게 때때로 조금 도전이 되는 다른 부분이에요 저는 그에게 힐(heel) 하는 법을 가르칠 수 있고 그는 앉아서 이 모든 걸 다 할 수 있지만 저는 싱코가 단순히 제 반려동물이 되길 원치 않아요 저는 싱코가 제 스포츠 독이 되길 원해요 대회용 개가 되길 원해요 그건 러스트가 은퇴를 준비하고 있다는 걸 아실 거예요 그는 벌써 여덟 살이고 어디가 더 아프거나 아픈 곳이 생기고 있어요 현재 부상에서 회복 중이기도 하고요 그래서 잘 모르겠어요, 러스트의 대회 경력 측면에서 미래가 조금 불확실하거든요 그래서 제게 싱코가 있는데 싱코는 조금 졸음이 많은 그런 편이에요 그래서 훈련은 수행하죠 제가 올린 싱코의 동영상을 보면 행복해 보여요 하지만 음 아시다시피 장난감이 그에게 충분한 동기부여를 주지 못해요 그래서 저는 마이클에게 정말 많은 도움과 일대일 지도를 받았어요 구체적으로 그녀가 저에게 정말 많은 놀라운 정보를 주었고 바트와 안나 그리고 마이클은 분명히 저에게 많은 다양한 아이디어를 주어서 이것을 다루게 했어요 그런데 어, 제가 엄청나게 도움이 된다고 생각한 것은 바로 마이클이 저에게 말해줬을 때였어요 장난감을 만들어서 그가 장난감을 물게 하라고요 그걸 필수 조건처럼 만들어서 그가 그것을 물어야만 하게 하라고요 그리고 어, 그건 정말 음
very interesting very impressive to see this dog go from i've never done that to friday there was a a jar with a specific odor the dog went in the jar and then went and hunted for the right jacket grabbed the principle brought it back brought the handler back to the right jacket you know or or got paid shortly thereafter now it wasn't like a big search like it wasn't like a you know the dog was in this big area and there were tons of jackets it was a short very very short short distance search but the fact that the dog understood that even in a small scale it was very impressive so i was one uh the other one too that uh the other thing that that i found very um just very good that i got a lot out of was with my dog i brought my dog cinco i'm gonna tell a bit about cinco here on this episode too uh cinco is 16 months old now and i think he was about 14 maybe 13 months old when i brought him to to gold but he's 16 months old now and cinco loves to he he'll do the bite work all day long he's not insane for the bite work he's not like i just want to bite right he's not one of those dogs he's not like rust rust is definitely like i just want to bite um he is more like yeah i'll buy it i love biting but the thing that cinco has is cinco is on the sleepy side he's just a little bit on the slower side he'll get excited and active and jumpy and and enthusiastic but he'll lose it and the thing about cinco 2 is food motivates him just enough and i don't give him treats okay food motivates him just enough toys motivate him just enough that's the other thing that sometimes makes a little bit of a challenge i can teach him how to heal he can sit down do all of those things but i don't want cinco to be my pet i wanted cinco to be my sport dog my com competition dog you know as russ is getting ready to retire he's already eight you know he's getting some more aches and pains he's recovering from an injury right now so i don't know you know the future is a bit uncertain for for rust in terms of his competition career so i have cinco and cinco's a little bit on this on the kind of sleepy side so he'll do the work and you you can see videos that i post of cinco he looks happy but um you know the toys just don't motivate him enough so i got a lot of help a lot of one-on-one time from michael specifically where she gave me a lot of just amazing information her bart and anna and michael definitely gave me a bunch of different ideas to work with this but uh but something that i found incredibly helpful was when you know when uh when michael told me you know make the toy have him hold the toy make it like a requirement like he has to hold it and uh that was just um

그것만으로도 확실히 저를 제가 가졌던 지금의 관점에서 벗어나게 해줬고 와, 그런 생각은 전혀 못 했었지라는 생각이 들게 했어요 그렇게요 그리고 그 일주일 내내 정말 많은 것들이 있었어요 그건 이렇게 해보라는 거였는데, 와 그런 생각은 한 번도 안 해봤는데 정말 창의적이다 정말 창의적이다 전 생각도 못 했었거든요 그렇다고 해서 마법 같은 건 아니에요, 오 와 이건 처음 들어보는 건데 이게 무슨 내용인지 말해줘 이런 게 아니었죠 이건 그런 게 아니었어요 오히려 이렇게 해봐 완벽하게 이해가 됐고, 그래서 저는 오 세상에 그런 생각은 전혀 못 했었어라고 했죠 그렇게 말이죠 그리고 그게 바로 그 일주일 내내 가득 찼던 내용들이었어요 그 일주일은 이런 것들로 가득했어요 이걸 하기 위해서 이렇게 한다 이걸 달성하기 위해서 말이죠, 마이클과 바트가 우리에게 말해주길, 이게 우리가 이걸 달성하기 위해 하는 방법이라고요 매번 저는 정말 완벽하게 이해가 된다고 생각했어요 정말 그렇네요 왜 그렇게 잘 작동하는지 그 논리를 알 수 있어요 그렇지만 그건 어떤 점은 적어도 저와 제 동기들도 다 그렇게 느꼈을 거라고 생각해요 저희는 '전혀 생각지도 못했던 방식이야'라고 생각했죠 이런 식으로요 정말 기발하고 정말 말이 되는 방식이다 싶었죠 그들은 그걸 하나의 시스템으로 또는 어떤 방식으로 정말 논리적이라서 시스템과 잘 맞아떨어진다고 느껴지게 구성해야 했어요 그게 바로 제가 골드 스쿨에서 정말 놀랍다고 생각했던 점이에요 정말 메커니즘, 메커니즘, 또 메커니즘, 그리고 테크닉이었죠 수많은 테크닉들이요 그리고 모든 테크닉 뒤에 숨겨진 이유들까지요 제가 너무 모호하게 말하고 있다는 건 알지만 이건 20분짜리 에피소드일 뿐이잖아요 설령 제가 이 에피소드를 한 시간이나 한 시간 반으로 만든다고 해도 안 그럴 거지만요 한 시간이나 한 시간 반짜리 에피소드로 만들지도 않을 거고요 여러분은 15분만 지나도 안 들을 거잖아요 아직도 듣고 계신 분들이 있다는 게 놀라울 정도인데 만약 듣고 계신다면 알다시피 제가 드릴 수 있는 건 한정적이에요 지금 이 에피소드에서는 그저 제가 학교에 대해 느끼는 제 관점만을 공유하고 있어요 제가 이걸 실생활에서 실시간으로 적용해 보면서 실제로 적용해 보고 있고요 제 개들과 제 고객들과 함께요 저는 계속해서 적용해 왔고 더 많은 힌트를 얻게 되었어요 그리고 제가 배운 시스템과 방법을 가지고 문제를 해결할 수 있는 더 많은 시간을 갖게 되었어요 그때가 되면 저는 뭔가를 제시하기 시작할 겁니다. 그때가 되면 네포포 시스템을 가르치기 시작할 거예요. 그때가 되면 네포포 시스템에 관한 방법 영상을 더 많이 만들기 시작할 텐데, 왜냐하면 그때쯤이면 저는 적용 사례, 문제 해결 방법, 그리고 여러 마리의 개로부터 얻은 결과를 확보하게 될 것이기 때문입니다. 지금 당장은 아직 그 단계가 아니에요. 사실 저는 정말 쉽게 할 수 있었을 거예요. 제 좋은 친구인 요다가 저에게 이 말을 해줬죠. 왜냐하면 그와 저는 이 문제에 대해 이야기를 나눴거든요. 그는 저에게 이렇게 말했어요. 당신은 지금 매우 겸손하게 굴고 있어요. 왜냐하면 이런 거거든요. 그 친구가 이렇게 말하더군요. 다른 누군가가 영상을 만들 거라고요. 다른 누군가가 네포포에 관한 방법 워크숍을 열 거라고요. 지금은 네포포 골드 졸업생들이 정말 많아요. 그 친구가 말하길, 당신을 보세요.
that alone was it definitely pulled me out of my you know my current perspective and it made me think wow i never thought of that and there was just throughout that week there were a lot of it do this where i was like wow i've never thought of that that is so creative so creative i haven't thought of it and it's not like magic it's not like oh wow i've never heard of this tell me what this is about it was more like try this it made perfect sense like it made me go oh my god i never thought of that and that's what that's what the whole week was filled with it was filled with we do this to achieve this right michael and bart telling us this this is what we do to achieve this and every time i was like that makes perfect sense that is so logic you can see why that works so well but it is you know something that i at least i and i know the rest of my classmates felt the same way we were like i've never thought of that you know that that's so brilliant that that just makes so much sense but they had to put it together in in a in a system or in in a way that makes you go that is so logical it falls in line with the system uh which is what i found so amazing about gold school it was just mechanics mechanics mechanics techniques a lot of techniques and the whys behind every technique and i know i'm being very vague here but this is only you know like a 20-minute episode even if i make this episode an hour an hour and a half which i won't make an episode an hour hour and a half you're gonna check out first 15 minutes i'm even surprised that some of you are still listening but if you are you know i can only give you so much i'm only giving you right now in this episode i'm only giving you my perspective on the school as i get to apply these in real life in real time with my dogs with my client those which i have been i have been applying it and i get more hints on uh and i get more troubleshoot time with the system and the methods that i've been given then i will start bringing something to the table then i'll start teaching the nepopo system then i'll start making more how-to videos on the nepopo system because by then i will have the application the troubleshooting and the result from several several dogs as of right now not there just yet and i could i really easily could you know good friend of mine yoda's told me this because he him and i talked about this and uh he told me he's like you know well you're you're you're being very modest because here's the thing you know he tells me here's the thing he goes somebody else is gonna make a video somebody else is going to make a how-to workshop on on the pogba there are so many napopo gold graduates now

당신은 반려견 훈련 경험이 정말 많잖아요. 반면에 반려견 훈련 경험이 거의 없는 사람들도 있어요. 어쩌면 그들은 당신만큼이나 이제 막 시작한 단계일 텐데도 훈련 경험이 많지 않은 사람들이 분명 가르치기 시작할 거예요. 물론 그들이 가르치는 것은 괜찮아요. 아주 바람직한 일이죠. 그들이 가르치는 것은 좋지만 문제는 그들은 자신의 정보를 내놓을 것이라는 거죠. 그런데 당신은 너무 스스로에게 엄격하게 굴면서 아직 준비가 안 됐다고 말하는 거잖아요. 음, 그래도 정보는 어차피 세상에 알려질 테니까요. 맞아요, 그래서 뭐, 이미 정보는 많이 퍼져 있죠. 음, 하지만 그건 그냥 제 방식이에요. 저는 제가 직접 가보고, 직접 반복 숙달을 해볼 때까지 기다리고 싶거든요. 퍼플(Purple)에서는, 개들이 수백 번, 심지어 수천 번의 반복 학습이 필요하다고 말하죠. 어떤 접근 방식이나 어떤 사분면(quadrant)을 사용하느냐에 따라 숙달되기까지는 개가 행동을 배우는 데 많은 시간이 걸립니다. 저도 제 자신에게 똑같이 적용하고 있어요. 저도 수백 번, 수백 번의 반복이 필요해요. 이 시스템을 사용하는 데 있어서, 사람들에게 이렇게 말할 만큼 충분히 익숙해지려면요. 자 여러분, 여기 이렇게 하는 거예요, 이게 바로 이 시스템 안에서 하는 방식입니다. 그나저나, 방금 제가 한 말 때문에 마치 이 시스템이 매우 제한적인 것처럼 들렸을 수도 있는데, 전혀 그렇지 않아요. 이 시스템은 전혀 제한적이지 않습니다. 그게 제가 퍼플에서 좋아하는 점 중 하나예요. 예전에 저는 나포포(Napopo)에 대해 이런저런 생각을 가지고 있었어요. 그건 실버(Silver) 리뷰 때 이야기했었죠. 솔직히 말해서 그때는, 그 리뷰를 할 때 가장 좋은 소리는 못 했던 것 같아요. 하지만 그때는 제가 꽤 초보였으니까요. 실버에 참석하기 전에는요 무엇을 기대해야 할지 전혀 몰랐어요 정말 아무것도 몰랐는데, 나포포에 대해 이런저런 이야기를 듣다 보면 마치 아, 나포포는 굉장히 제한적인 시스템이라거나 뭐랄까, 마치 사이비 종교 같은 느낌이 드는 시스템이라는 이야기를 들을 수 있는데, 실버와 골드 과정을 다 들어본 입장에서 말씀드리자면 전혀 그렇지 않아요 조금도 그렇지 않습니다 적어도 제 관점에서는 제 경험상 그래요 전혀 그렇지 않아요. 제한적인 훈련법이 아닙니다 아니요 물론 '이건 정말 나포포답다' 싶은 것들도 있지만 이건 정말 나포포 방식이다 싶은 것들도 있지만 동시에 많은 부분은 좀 더 포괄적인 영역에 있어서 알 수 있어요 아, 여기는 분명히 벽이 없구나 정말이지 여기에는 전혀 벽이 없어요 전혀요 그리고 음 그게 제가 정말 마음에 드는 점이에요 그건 정말 음 독특하면서도 동시에 폭넓고 창의적이며 매우 지적인 과정이라는 점이에요. 개에게도 매우 지적인 과정이죠 개에게 매우 지적인 과정이죠 저에게도 매우 지적인 학습
and he goes well you know look at you you have a lot of experience in dog training there are people that really don't have a whole lot of experience in dog training that uh you know they're maybe just as new as you are and some of them are probably going to start teaching which is fine it's perfectly fine that they that they do teach it but the thing is you know they will be putting out their the information and you're being a little bit you know harder on yourself by telling yourself you're not ready yet um but the information is going to be out there anyway right so um which there is you know there is information out there um and but that's just kind of my my style it's just i want to wait till i have physically just been there and and done the repetitions you know in the purple we we say you know the dogs they need hundreds and even thousands of repetitions to become proficient depending on what approach what quadrant you use it'll take a lot of time for a dog to learn the the behavior of that i'm also applying to myself i need hundreds and hundreds of repetitions um of using the system before i feel comfortable enough going hey guys here is how this is done here in this you know within this system which by the way i know right now i just made it sound like there was like the system is very restrictive and it's not the system is not restrictive at all that's one thing i like about the purple is previously i used to think i used to have these ideas about napopo in a in the silver review i talked about it and you know frankly you know i i probably didn't sound the most flattering uh during that review uh but i mean i was still fairly new and prior to that prior to attending silver i had no idea what to expect right i really didn't know and then you hear all these things abandon purple which make it sound like oh and a purple is a system that is very restrictive or it's a system that you know that that has like a cult you know feel to it and i can tell you now from attending silver and attending gold it's not like that at all not one bit at least that's my perspective that's my experience is not like that at all it's not a restrictive method there are some things that are very very like this is very napopo but also there there are plenty of things that are a little bit more on the general spectrum when you can go okay well there's definitely not a wall here you know there's absolutely not a wall here at all and um and that's what i really like about it you know it's it's so um so unique but at the same time so um broad and so creative and it's such an intellectual process it's a very intellectual process for the dog a very intellectual learning

experience from me and from the student i would say you know take the liberty to speak on behalf of the other napopa students but it's a very intellectual learning experience even my classmates and you know some of the people that i hung out with we were like constantly had this look like ah and we would talk afterwards in between classes we would kind of bounce back and forth bounce ideas back and forth about what we had just learned and we will get these ah yes that's why they say and it was f the whole week was that so i can tell you uh from you know after going to nepopo silver and gold i can tell you it was just an amazing experience okay it was just awesome and i know there are people who don't understand the popo and not only do they not understand it but there are plenty of people that not only do they not understand it but they bash it okay and i get it you know they don't understand it so if i didn't understand it i will probably be in a similar position but it's i'm telling you it's very very um very intellectual if you're an apopo student a graduate you resonate with what i'm saying if you're not um you know it might be a little bit confusing but again there are people that are teaching this information and i myself will bring it into the into my library as well at some point uh so stay tuned for that now i also want to close by letting you know bart and michael are not doing the silver and gold anymore they are changing i believe this year 2022 is their last the last time they're doing gold and they're doing a bunch of you know a bunch of gold schools because they did a bunch of silver schools now they're also doing a bunch of gold schools to kind of close the chapter on that um i don't think they're done teaching at all i don't think they're just retiring but i think they're they're coming up or trying to figure out or figuring out or maybe in the works of bringing it out into the you know into the into the industry in a different way now how they're going to be bringing that information out i don't know yet i haven't uh you know i'm not up to date on that just yet but uh but i know that the information will just keep coming out okay so all right guys thank you for listening to this episode make sure you follow the podcast subscribe to the channel follow me on youtube instagram facebook and now tick tock uh so i'll see you guys in the next episode
