so where do i start and what do we want to talk about it's insanely hot in florida you had to go for the competition like three four weeks ahead of time up north to do some training because it was pretty crazy cindy how are you there you go buenos aires um morocco city and i was only one time there i was in i've been to quite a few of the places but morocco is a place i would want to go again for sure eventually some point canada lease love your podcast very cool i'm working on something right now and i i believe i'm gonna make that podcast happen i'm super excited it's been a little bit um um kind of tricky with the podcast lately because i had um all the students from my last class well not all of them but quite a few came this last weekend for certification so that took a lot of time um i'm still kind of going through the tests and everything but yeah another class is done and we're gonna have the next one coming up my next course starts uh monday which is pretty cool um i need to come to sydney yes i can't believe you guys are still in lockdown australia but sydney doesn't sound bad at all i was uh and when was the last time i was in australia it's been a long time but i have a crazy story about sydney airport i just had to make a connection and go i'm not sure it was brisbane or park i was going somewhere but i was connecting in sydney and a golden retriever decided to indicate on my back as it came out on the belt and just sat on top of the back so proud and everybody was like oh let's see whose bag it is i'm like yeah that's me it's just full of dog toys and stuff but it was it was pretty funny um gold coast australia yeah there's gonna be there's gonna be a bunch of seminars um we're gonna have quite a few here at my place and probably gonna go to few places as well so i don't know we'll see we'll see um i know i'm going to new york state early september to work with a few police departments there new york pd and few things like teaching help or work and stuff like that so that's gonna be exciting if you give me thumbs up i'm talking a little bit not so loud but i hope you hear me i can get louder but let me know if it's not um so yeah been training my dogs got so many now to train after after the competition everybody was

통화들을 그 내용의 일부분을 조금씩 알려줬었는데, 그리고 마침내 기회가 생겨서 정말로 그 강의를 만들게 되어서, 그래서 그건 정말 정말 신나는 일이에요 정말 기대돼요 그에 대한 반응들이 어떨지 궁금해요, 음 아까 제가 무슨 이야기를 하고 있었죠 정말 놀랍네요 음 이 전체가 어떻게 돌아가는지 파악해야겠어요 쿠리엘, 워킹독과 아이들에 대해 듣고 싶어요. 제 개는 한 살배기 아이와 있을 때 정말 훌륭하고 정말 침착해요 기본적으로는 별로 신경도 안 쓰는데 다른 아이들과 있을 때는 너무 흥분해서 짖을지도 모르겠어요 그건 대부분의 사람들, 특히 부모님들께는 좀 무섭게 느껴질 수 있죠 어떤 조언을 드려야 할지 잘 모르겠네요 음 왜냐하면 그건 제가 꽤 여러 가지 질문을 드리고 답변을 주고받아야 제대로 된 답을 드릴 수 있을 것 같아서요 그렇군요 셰퍼드들은 아주 잘하고 있어요. 셰퍼드들은 정말 잘해주고 있죠 요즘 제가 조금 더 신경을 쓰기 시작한 개 두 마리예요 오늘 정말 재밌는 훈련 세션이었어요. 제가 데리고 있는 녀석 이름은 풀보인데 그게 제가 이름을 풀보라고 지었거든요 음, 녀석이 여기 있는데... 기침 좀 그만해, 왜 그래? 왜 그러니 가서 다른 거나 해 가 에바, 저리로 가 아무튼 그래요, 9개월이나 10개월쯤 됐을 거예요 그쯤 됐겠네요 보호 훈련 세션을 두 번 정도 진행했는데 정말 재미있는 녀석이에요. 제대로 된 훈련을 받아본 적이 전혀 없거든요 쇼 셰퍼드인데 정말 멋져요 음, 그리고 항상 발 쪽으로 달려들곤 했어요 제 말은, 사실 아무 데나 그냥 그냥 그런 식이었죠 당신을 살짝 물어도 당신이 반응할 거라는 걸 알고 있어요 그래서 아주 능숙하게 그렇게 하는 게 녀석의 특기인 것 같아요. 그냥 같이 놀려고요. 음, 저는 사실... 저는 사실 오늘, 아니 지난 두 번의 세션에서 바이트 슈트를 입어야 했어요. 그냥 단지 제가... 저는 녀석에게 물 장난감을 주려고 하는데 녀석은 그 물 장난감에는 관심이 없어요. 마치 이렇게 생각하는 것 같아요. 난 당신이랑 놀고 싶어, 당신을 살짝 깨물고 싶어. 그래서 결국 저는 실제로 허락해 줬어요. 그래, 물어라 하고요. 그랬더니 녀석이 너무 신나서 제 바이트 슈트를 물어뜯더라고요. 바이트 슈트를 해본 적이 없었을 텐데 이제 기회가 생기니까 말이에요. 녀석은 오, 완전히 즐기고 있는 거죠. 이게 적절한 행동이 아니라고 말해야 하는 게 안타까워요. 왜냐하면 저는 녀석을 어떤 식으로든 다른 무언가를 가지고 놀도록 유도하고 싶거든요. 설령 제가 앞으로 어떤 스포츠를 할지, 녀석이 무엇을 하게 될지 잘 모르더라도요. 어쩌면 결국 바이트 슈트를 활용하는 일을 하게 될지도 모르죠. 누가 알겠어요. 하지만 적어도 지금 당장은 제 다리나 팔, 그리고 여기 있는 모두를 깨무는 것 말고 다른 것을 가지고 놀게 하고 싶어요. 그런데 녀석은 그냥 이게 정말 재미있다고 생각해요. 왜냐하면 그냥
calls with the i give a little pieces from it and and finally we got a chance to to really make that lecture so that one's super super exciting i cannot wait to hear the comments back from it um now what was i talking before that it's crazy um i gotta figure how this whole thing works curiel i like to hear about working dogs and kids my dog is amazing with one year old super calm and basically doesn't really care but she gets too excited with other kids and might get voice which is kind of scary for most especially parents man i'm not sure what kind of advice i want to give you um because that's gonna require quite a few questions for me to go back and forth with you to to be able to give you some sound answer the shepherds are doing awesome the shepherds are doing really good they're two of the dogs that i'm kind of starting to pay a little more attention now today was a really funny session the one the one that i have his name's fulbo and um he's here stop coughing what's wrong what are you doing go go do something else ava go um so yeah nine months old 10 months old somewhere in there and get two sessions in protection and he's super funny because he's never really actually done training and all he it's a show shepard but it's like really cool um and he he would always kind of go for your feet or i mean actually anywhere it just just knows that he can nip you and you're gonna react so it's like his specialty to do in a very good way to just kind of get you playing and um i had to put a i had to put a bite suit today actually the last two session and just just so i can i'm trying to give him a pillow to buy it and he has nothing to do with the pill he's like i i want to play i want to nip at you so finally i actually i actually let him i'm like okay bite so he's so excited and he's just bites me on the bite suit like he's never really done by two but now he has an opportunity so he's like oh like i'm totally enjoying it and it sucks that i have to tell him that it's not appropriate because i want to kind of redirect him to play with something even if i don't know what kind of sport or what he's going to do in the future he might very well end up doing something on a bite suit who knows but at least for right now i want to be able to get him to play with something else besides just biting my legs and arms and and everybody here but he's just like this is a lot of fun to to play around with because it's just a

good nature dog and so yeah i i probably can make a video of this one tomorrow or something when we work and it's it's pretty funny it's pretty funny oh man you're going too fast i cannot keep up here will you ever come to wisconsin yeah i've been to wisconsin uh in fact right now i have my van back you know like i don't know some of you may not even know some of you may have forgotten but i bought up a sprinter extended van and i started converting it and so finally it's done kind of there is some some issues with the ac because it's running on a lithium batteries so i can shut the whole thing off and it's supposed to keep the car cool for at least five six hours it's it's pretty cool technology but there is some glitch in it the computers or whatever so it's not done yet so anyway that's gonna be done the weather's gonna get better and there's gonna be a rock tour we're gonna get on the road we're gonna do some cool things that's for sure and we're gonna announce where we're going and what we are doing so it's to be cool um so yeah wisconsin or anything release not out of a question for sure there's no question um but yeah the puppy is back to the puppies five weeks five days old right now a very very cool female out of ybor her name is vega and crazy breeding but why not she she lives in bulgaria with a good friend of mine alexander and um so he drove to the czech republic to bring to berry sabatore because he's getting old and i had few dogs from that line and really like him and so i was like okay let's do that breathing so he ended up driving to the check driving back to bulgaria then we get the female here now she has the babies and i should post some pictures later on but very exciting this is like a lot of females and only two boys in there then ten puppies uh eight puppies and then i have another one coming up probably in the next week or so also really cool breeding working on my malinois website it's going to be done pretty soon it needed some uplift and that's kind of why there is not too much going on there but that's coming up that's going to be all cool um let's see what's going on man dog training advices that's what you guys want ryan i have a 12 week old puppy when she's in her kennel she will not stop barking i try and wait till she quits before i let her outfit her but she still works all the time any advice yeah um you definitely don't need to wait for her to stop it's kind of i don't know i mean that that's a long conversation but you don't need to wait you can you can teach the puppy to be quiet and then let it out it's much better way than just waiting it out and getting the puppy all frustrated and

함께 놀고 배우면서 실험도 해보고, 그건 뭐랄까 머릿속에 떠오르는 온갖 아이디어를 마음껏 펼쳐보면서 그 아이와 함께 계속 테스트하고 시도하고 또 테스트하고 시도해 볼 수 있었거든요 챙은 정말 훌륭했어요, 그래서 네, 제 말은 그 녀석이 세 살이 되었을 때 말이죠 정말 놀라운 일이지만 세 살이 되었을 때 말리노이즈 내셔널 대회에서 우승했고 미국 독일 셰퍼드 협회 대회에서도 우승했어요 IWDF 내셔널 대회에서도 우승했고 FMB 세계 대회에서 준우승까지 했죠 그러다 다쳤는데 그 후로 16살 정도까지 살았던 것 같아요, 뭐 하지만 챙은 정말 똑똑한 개였어요, 그냥 잠에서 깨워가지고 3년 동안 훈련을 전혀 안 하다가 바로 내보내도 엄청난 실력을 보여주곤 했거든요 그런 식으로 말이죠 하지만 천성도 아주 착했고 그냥 그런 식이었죠 그래서 그건 참 확실히 그 개가 맞았어요 지금 저는 헤이 뎁, 잘 지내시나요 음, 정글의 자견을 데리고 있어요 지금은요 생후 8개월 됐고요 물론 인공수정을 통해 태어난 거라서 뭐 그런 과정이었죠, 그래서 그 녀석의 자견이 있다는 게 참 멋진 일인 것 같아요 다시 돌아온 셈이니까요 케니는 물론이고, 어떻게 그 녀석을 안 좋아할 수 있겠어요? 정말 말도 안 되는 사연이 있었죠 말도 안 되는 사연이 있었죠 제 친구에게 강아지일 때 분양했는데 말이에요 그리고 그 친구가 훈련도 시키고 다 했는데요 결국 6~7개월쯤 됐을 때 얘가 '야 이 개 정말 대단하다'라며 이런 식으로 말하더군요 내가 감당할 수가 없으니 네가 맡아달라고요 그래서 제가 '내가 맡겠다'고 했죠. 하지만 당신이 마음을 바꾸면 안 되니까 훈련에 이 모든 시간을 쏟아부었는데 2년 뒤에 마음을 바꾸면 정말 곤란하잖아요. 정말 정신없었죠 마치 이혼 가정의 아이 같았어요. 비시즌마다 그 친구 집으로 돌아갔다가 제가 필요할 때면 다시 데려오곤 했죠. 큰 대회를 몇 달 앞두고 데려와서 대회 준비를 하고 함께 출전하는 식이었죠 네, 그 녀석은 정말 모든 걸 해냈어요 한 해에 WDF, FCI, 그리고 대회를 전부 우승했죠 전부 다요 그래서 전 '그래, 더 바랄 게 뭐가 있겠어' 했죠 물론 다시 우승할 수도 있겠지만 어쩌면 아마 우승은 힘들지도 모르죠 그래서 그 친구가 어떻게 하다 보니 거기로 가게 됐죠 음, 그런데 물론 지금 아이스는 그러니까 저는 아이스와 아이보를 사랑하고 네, 정말이지 제가 기르던 모든 개들에 대해 지금 방금 말한 것처럼 똑같이 이야기할 수 있어요 방금 말한 것처럼요 그게 참 신기한 점이고, 제가 결국 이렇게 많은 개를 키우게 된 이유예요. 정말 말도 안 되죠 음, 그래도 다시 말하지만 그 작은 강아지는 항상 제 휴대폰 화면 보호기에 있어요 네, 음 어디 보자
like i i got to play i got to learn and experiment and it was uh you know i was just kind of really playing with all sorts ideas in my head and and just testing and trying and testing and trying with him and he was he was really good so he yeah i mean by the time he was three years old and that's pretty crazy but by the time he was three years old he won the malinois nationals he won the usci the german shepherd nationals he won the iwdf nationals he was vice champion of the world at the fmb and then he got hurt and he got to live what was 16 years old or something you know um but he was a smart dog like you couldn't just wake him up and three years of no training and he would go out and do crazy stuff like like like so on but also very good in nature and just kind of stuff like that so that that was a that was one dog for sure that right now i have hey deb how are you i have um i have a son from jungle right now that is eight months old and of course with artificial insemination and all that so he's you know it's kind of cool to have somebody back from that um kenny of course how can you not like him he had the crazy story i saw them as a puppy to a friend of mine and and this his name and he he was doing training and everything and eventually at six seven months old he's like man this dog is really cool you i i cannot keep up with them you you need to maybe take over i'm like i'll take over but you know we gotta i cannot just spend all this time training and all of a sudden you change your mind two years from now it was pretty crazy it was like a divorce family every time off season he would go back home and then when it's time for me i get him like couple of months prior to some big competition get him ready then we go yeah he also he did everything like one the same year one day wdf won the fci and one death and bb and i was like okay what else sure i can do it again and maybe win again or maybe most likely not win and so he you know kinda ended up there um but then of course i mean ice right now it's like i i love him and ibor and yeah i mean gosh i can talk about every single one of my dogs in the same way that i talked about the one just i talked about that's the crazy thing that's why i end up with so many dogs it's just insane um but again the little dog is on my screen saver on my phone forever yeah um let me see here

want to know if you'll be having any obedience from bikewalk training seminars if you place coming up two weeks ago we lost our mail yeah i'm we're gonna have like right now it's just super hot so we don't we don't have um um you know we don't do nothing um but in the the problem with all the seminars in my place right now is that i i really trying to offer as much as i can to all the students and and the people that graduate from the school and so that that that's has become like obsession a priority in my world and it's it's super exciting super rewarding to to do you know instead of the problems always like and and then i don't know like i've been doing seminars for 20 years in any part of the world and one of the one of the things that kind of disappointing with seminars very often is that you you're kind of like a broken record you're pretty much going on autopilot talking about exactly the same thing that you talk 10 15 20 30 seminars in a row before and it's not that it's not important it's not that it's a mother but you know it's it's so much more interesting and rewarding to to do a seminar workshop then do another one but catch up from there and keep growing and developing you know and that's kind of with the school the the joy that i get from that it's it's really cool because uh you know i get to move forward and and expand on on previous knowledge and add to it and and it becomes very very cool um but i i mean there's gonna be seminars there's gonna be seminars the other ones that i need to do is i have so many people that have dogs for me i have so many people around that have actually trained with me forever so like for my channel i i typically at least once a year for an event just for people that have dogs for me and i haven't done that especially with coving and all this [ __ ] so that's gonna be another big one then i have a really big event coming up to where it's like it's december for through like all the all the graduates from my school will come and we're going to have some fun a few days of training and just kind of basically being on the same page and doing you know cool things so after all this in between all those things there's gonna be some other seminars and stuff yes nirvana of course how can you forget nirvana you can i mean i can talk to you about nirvana forever oh yeah i just had them out i just had them out few times today training super early and nirvana man i love her i love her um larry at what way at what age do you start your sport dogs on tracking so this is the shitty part of living in florida like i just love florida because it's i i love the beach i love the the

거짓말 안 하고 정말로 날씨를 좋아해요 그 날씨를요 추운 날씨는 싫어하지만 동시에 개 훈련하기에는 최악이죠, 그렇죠 지금 당장 트래킹을 하러 가고 싶어도 그건 좌절스러울 거예요, 지금 가장 좌절스러운 일이 될 거예요 더위랑 불개미 때문이죠 그리고 상관없어요 여기 꽤 오래 살았고 계속 시도해 봤거든요 온갖 간식과 온갖 마법 같은 방법들 얼려도 보고 미친 듯이 들판을 뛰어다니고 뭐든 다 해봤어요 정말 좌절스러워요 그래서 저한테는 플로리다에 사는 게 기후가 기본적으로 언제 시작할지를 결정하죠 제가 항상 조언하는 것은 추적 훈련을 시작하려는 경우 마치 외국어를 배우는 것과 정말 비슷해요 외국어처럼 말이죠 기회가 있을 때 시작하는 것이 좋습니다 매일 연습할 수 있는 기회를 스스로 만드는 거죠 그렇지 않으면 중국어를 배운다고 생각해보세요 안녕하세요 제 이름은 아이반입니다라고 말하고 다음 수업까지 일주일을 기다린다면 말도 안 되는 소리죠 그러니까 추적 훈련은 그런 것 중 하나예요 무언가를 조금 잘못하더라도 꾸준히 그리고 충분히 자주 한다면요 여기서 '충분히 자주'라는 건 일주일에 두 번이라고조차 말할 수가 없어요 그 정도로는 부족하니까요 특히 추적 훈련을 처음 시작할 때는 가능하다면 매일 할 겁니다 저는 매일 하는 것을 정말 좋아해요, 그게 핵심이죠 저는 추적 훈련을 사랑하니까요 음, 하지만 최소 일주일에 세 번은 해야 한다고 봅니다 그리고 나이는 그렇게 중요하지 않아요 제게 있어서 나이란 매우 흥미로운 부분인데 음, 그러니까 개들의 작업 수명이나 전성기가 보통 대략 네 살에서 다섯 살 사이이고 여섯 살이 끝날 무렵일 수도 있지만 물론 예외는 있죠 방금 말했듯이 정(Jung)은 세 살이었고 그는 그냥 모든 걸 다 했죠 하지만 이건 일반적인 규칙 같은 거예요 알다시피 짧은 시간이라 할지라도 그게 짧은 시간일지라도 말이죠 제 생각에 우리가 할 수 있는 건 우리가 퍼피 10이라 부르는 12에서 45개월 된 강아지들의 경우 충분히 해낼 수 있습니다 훨씬 더 짧은 시간 안에 훨씬 더 잘 이해하면서 할 수 있죠 강아지에게 무엇을 요구하는지 말이에요 강아지가 좀 더 자라게 되면 물론 이런 것들은 그냥 하는 이야기이고 술 한잔하며 하는 이야기이니 너무 심각하게 받아들이지 마세요 하지만 날씨가 좋고 어린 강아지가 있다면 저는 당연히 트래킹 훈련을 할 겁니다 그게 좋은 배출구가 되니까요 하지만 그게 상황이 여의치 않다면요 시기가 맞지 않거나 바쁘거나 날씨가 안 좋거나 강아지가 아직 잘 따라오지 못한다면 저는 기다려도 아무런 문제가 없다고 봅니다 각각의 장단점이 있죠
weather like i cannot lie to you i love the weather i hate cold weather but at the same time for dog training sucks right so right now if i want to go tracking that will be frustrating that that will be like the most frustrating thing to do right now just cause the heat and the fire ants and it doesn't matter like i mean i've been here for a while and i've been trying forever all sorts of treats and all sorts of magic and freezing and freaking flats and whatever you name it it's it's frustrating so for me living in florida i the the climate basically dictates when i'm gonna start the thing that i always advise for tracking if you're gonna start it's it's very much like a like learning a falling foreign language you know like you you basically want to start when you have the chance you give yourself the opportunity to practice it every day otherwise you know imagine learning chinese and saying hello my name is ivan and then we wait another week for my next lesson there is no [ __ ] way you know so tracking is one of those things that even if you do some things a little bit wrong but you're persistent and you go often enough and often enough is i don't even i cannot even say twice a week like tracking when you're especially when you're starting to train tracking i will do it every day if i can and i would love doing it every day that's the thing i love tracking um but probably i'd say minimum of three times a week and age is not as important like for me ages are very interesting um you know like there is no even though the the working lifespan of a dog like the peak is somewhere in between four or five and possibly by the end of six years of course there is exception just as i was saying jung was three years old and he just did everything um but you know it's a rule of in general kind of thing you know and even though it's a short time what i think that we can do with the eight we call puppy 10 12 45 months old you very much can accomplish in a much shorter time with much better understanding of what you're doing and what you're asking from the dog as they get a little older and of course these are you know i mean we're just talking and having drinks so don't don't take this guy's some serious conversation okay but if the weather's nice and i have a young little puppy he'll be tracking no question or she but it's because it's an outlet and whatever but if it happens that it's not the right time uh being busy or or the weather or the puppy whatever doesn't kind of connect it yet i have no problems waiting like there's there's pros and cons on board

that is the way i see it and the one way starting early is your you know you're not imprinting because imprinting doesn't really work like that that's just kind of a shitty way that we are using that word and that term in dog training but nevertheless you you can definitely stimulate the little brain and and get some things to to wake up and and start working on those things um but again the other the other ways as the puppy gets a little bit older the conversation you're having and the lesson you're having is much deeper and much more like i i am super i don't know where we are we're going some down some rabbit hole right now because of that question but uh like i'm super big on on teaching the dog whatever i'm teaching teaching it really with the real meaning and the real purpose um i don't know if that's gonna make sense let's say let's say we're running blinds for igp and they don't need to run around and needs to check the blind like i i want him to check the blind because he really thinks that there can be somebody in there not because there's going to be a ball hanging out or there is food on the ground of course you can go that route it's just not interesting to me um and and you know going very tight around the blinds of course you can make him believe that there is posts and fishing cords and whatever else and they will go tight but for me it's way more interesting to find a way to tell him dude yeah you have all this room you have all these other choices but this is how you and i want to do this specific exercise that that's what i get a kick out of when i do training so any training that you see it's it's and anything that i do it's kind of my brain goes around that kind of concepts but yeah like tracking again it's a it's a very cool thing the the main thing is anything that you do you go in and and and play with it and don't you know don't don't kind of step in the water and come back oh it's not today like decide when you're gonna have time and commit to it and then go because it's a it's definitely something the you have very talented dogs you have dogs that are not so talented you have those that just would never really want to do this tracking which is amazing that it's even possible but i've seen it and the same with trainers you have trainers you are in the spectrum if you commit to it and you give enough time things will start to come together why is me telling me to check my connection issues do we have a connection issue that's weird um

years is able to compete in this high level for so long and and what that brings as a reward is it's amazing because you you know at any given time at any world championship you have at least 10 competitors they're really really good at it and then you have some others that their dog is retired this year or they have a new dog so so i would say probably i mean this is just me thinking about right now but i think there is um about 40 people in the world that are really good like like not really good they just above and i've had the experience to watch them compete watch them train talk to them drink with them compete against them and that that's one of the most amazing things like um you know some sometimes conversations get really funny of especially social media and what you've done and you know can't return anything or you or whatever and just goes in a whole different conversation but um you know like winning those world championships that's super cool but being around just in this environment around these people for so long in so many different ways priceless for a dog trainer priceless like just that is worth to i i wish it to anybody let's see what else what else the other side of the world yeah the world is all the same now let's see here there is some star sending thing which i had to say that it's okay but i didn't know what that is google what's going on yeah that's true then that's uh that's uh i think there is few other people that do this now but especially at the time when i won um you know selecting my dogs doing the breeding doing the training and and winning world championship um yeah it's crazy journey crazy crazy stuff um when you guys in europe are waking up let's see what do we have after we end the play session my queue can i let my mom so carry the ball on mile yeah dude you can you can let the dog carry you that way it's not a problem at all not a problem at all like i'm i mean for me absolutely no problem at

all even if regardless if the dog is very playful or not playful at all taking the ball home no big deal either way perfectly cool felix what is your favorite thing to train obedience protection trucking um yeah so this one when you kind of have some cool questions tonight or i just haven't talked dogs in a while so since since this weekend um my favorite thing to train i you know like i i can look at a trainer and a dog doing obedience and i can look at two things very quickly and put them in a certain category of knowledge and and abilities uh i think obedience is uh it's like the most important thing because everything everything goes through obedience obedience is not about he'll sit down stand come obedience about talking to each other back and forth and if you can have a conversation back and forth that's correct then obviously you can teach whatever else you want to teach better than if you didn't so i i'm super big on obedience but what i like in dog training it changes over the years really here i mean it really changes but right now what i find that i like and again that's this kind of cool cause i literally was talking about these things during this uh certification weekend what i really like right now is challenges like things that i haven't seen things that i haven't experienced or even if i have but it's like okay there is there is a piece here that's missing what is which piece is it how do we address it do we can i find the piece or do i need to come up with plan b that's kind of what is interesting to me way more right now there's got to be a little something that it's not going exactly how i want and i know i know a lot of trainers would get frustrated when that happens i actually welcome it because that's that's really how you grow as a trainer and that's what keeps you going or at least me those times where things are not going exactly how i want and it doesn't matter if it's a pet dog it doesn't matter if it's a police dog it doesn't matter if my competition dog you know like how i had uh the last year for whatever crazy freaking reason my dog decided that he's not gonna track that you know i mean not that i enjoyed it but at the same time that was a diving deep into dude what is going on let's see how we can figure this out because you're not showing me anything like making all these beautiful tracks every time in training no matter how i stage it and what we do and then two national championships you just don't want to this is just was mind mind boggling and this last trial we got 97 points and

한스 위르겐 리치 심사위원 앞에서 복종 훈련으로 93점을 받았어요 그 당시 리치라는 이름만 들어도 아실 텐데 87점만 받아도 와 대박이다 할 정도였거든요 음 그래서 그게 정말 정신없었던 대회였어요 마치 밭을 갈아엎은 것처럼요 정말 이런 식이었어요 정말 이렇게 큰 덩어리들이었죠 뭐라고 부르든 간에 첫 번째 갈이 작업이었고 개들이 여기저기서 계속 실패했어요 평소라면 100점을 받을 개들도 99점, 98점, 당시에는 98점 정도였죠 1993년이니까요 그렇게 걷다가 갑자기 엄청나게 큰 흙덩어리가 나타나면 개들은 이렇게 생각하는 거죠 거기로 가면 안 된다는 건 알지만 그러다 혼날 텐데 그런데 여기에는 발자취가 없고 저기에도 없으니 발자취가 아예 없는 거예요 그래서 개들이 계속 실패를 거듭하고 또 실패했죠 게다가 설상가상으로 갑자기 비가 내리기 시작했어요 우리는 87점을 받았는데 아마도 추적 훈련에서 받은 가장 값진 87점이었을 겁니다 제게는 가장 자랑스러운 점수였어요. 저는 뭐 잘 모르겠지만 적어도 3~4번은 100점 만점 추적을 해봤지만요 세계 선수권 대회에서 말이죠. 하지만 앞서 말했듯이 말이에요 모든 게 맞아떨어지는 순간들이죠 도움이 되었지만요 도움이 되었지만 도전적인 순간들이 오히려 더 소중하게 느껴지는 그런 순간들이라고 생각해요 그때 이후로 저는 생각했죠, 와 내가 해냈던 방식으로 이 일을 해낼 수 있다면 그게 제게 자신감을 주었거든요 그냥 가고 싶다면 그러니까 음, 도노반 래리 세미나에서 당신을 만난 이후로 스트라이더와 저는 사격 훈련을 시작했습니다 정말 멋지네요, 정말 잘됐어요. 부디 그 과정을 즐기시길 바라요. 왜냐하면 그 과정은 뭐랄까, 항상 마지막에 무엇을 하게 될지만 생각하지 마세요, 왜냐면 우승을 한다 해도 다음 날이면 '이제 뭘 하지?'라는 생각이 들 테니까요. 그러니 그 과정을 즐기고 또 즐기세요, 왜냐하면 그게 바로 핵심이니까요. 정말 좋은 과정이에요. 도노반, 이 스포츠에 오신 걸 진심으로 환영합니다. 음, 네 래리, 우리는 개의 의인화를 하지 않으려고 정말 애쓰고 있어요. 그리고 그건 잘못된 일이죠. 제 말은, 의인화하는 것 자체가 틀렸다는 겁니다. 개 입장에서 볼 때 정말 '젠장, 난 사람이 아닌데'라고 느낄 수 있는 그런 의미에서의 의인화는 잘못된 것이죠. 어쨌든 어떤 것들은 할 수 없으니까요, 하지만 그건 다른 이야기네요. 사람들이 그냥 탁구처럼 이쪽 아니면 저쪽으로 너무 빠르게 왔다 갔다 해서 정말이지, 제발 좀 그러지 않았으면 좋겠어요. 에이 참. 미안합니다 여러분, 불가리아어로 몇 마디 좀 해야 해서요. 음, 그냥 친구들에게 제가 거기로 갈 거고 만나게 될 거라고 전하고 있었어요.
and make 93 points in obedience under hans jurgen ritzy one of the the judges at the time that when you heard the name ritzy you know that if you got 87 points you're like whoa um so that that then i had a it was a crazy trial like they the fields they were plowed like it was like this really like this big clumps like the whatever you call it this first kind of plow and dogs were failing left and right dogs that would make normally 100 points 99 98 you know at that time we were talking 98 1993 so they would be walking and then there's this freaking big clump and they're like i know i'm not supposed to go all where i'm gonna get in trouble but there is no track here and there is no track here and then they're just failing over and over and on top of that all of a sudden it just starts raining we had 87 points probably the probably the best 87 points in tracking the my proudest score and i've had i don't know i've had at least three or 400 point trackings on world championships you know but as i say these are this is when everything comes together as you helped but the moments that you know you have challenges those are the moments i think that you kind of appreciate so since then i was like wow if if i can do this the way i did it that gave me the confidence if you just want to go so um donovan since meeting you at larry seminar uh strider and i have started shooting training very cool very cool good for you hopefully you enjoy the journey because it's you know like don't don't always think about what you're gonna end up doing because even if you win the next day you're gonna be what do i do now so enjoy enjoy the the journey because that's that's what's about it's a good journey so welcome to the sport for sure donovan um yeah larry that's the we try hard not to humanize and and it's wrong i mean it's wrong um it's also wrong to humanize in a sense where the dog is really like what the [ __ ] i'm not a human you know um i cannot you know certain things but but that's a different i don't know people just it's it's like a ping pong they just go either here or here really fast and it's like come on sorry guys had to say couple of words in bulgarian um um i'm just just telling some of my friends that i'm gonna be there and i'm gonna see them

더 많이 알고 싶고 잘하고 싶다면 주저하지 말고 무조건 도전하세요. 정말 고민하지 말고 어떻게든 돈을 마련해서 저를 믿고 해보세요. 래리, 대회에서 은퇴할 생각을 해본 적 있나요? 음, 아니요. 참 쉬운 대답이었죠. 저는 은퇴를 생각하지 않아요. 아주 흥미롭다고 생각해요. 모든 것이 계속 발전하고 있고 아시다시피 저는 또한 저에게는 어떻게 돌아가는지가 정말 흥미로워요. 저는 개를 브리딩하기도 하고 저만의 훈련 개념도 가지고 있어서 정말 너무나도 흥미롭습니다. 제 개들을 세계 최고들과 대결시켜 보고 제 훈련 개념들을 세계 최고의 훈련사들과 비교해 시험해 볼 수 있으니까요. 다시 말하지만 항상 세계 최고의 훈련사들 사이에 있다는 것만으로도 그냥 음, 계속 공부하는 거죠. 유전적 선택이나 이런 것들요. 좋아요, 당신은 좀 더 많은 것을 하죠 이런 원시적인 측면의 그립이나 뭐 그런 것들에 대해서 말이죠. 하지만 얼마나 많은 수십억과 그건 음, 어떤 어떤 사람들은 뭐 그니까 뭐 사람들이 여러 가지 다른 이유로 대회에 나가는 이유가 꽤 많은데 제 말은 전 정말 경쟁심이 강한 편이라 뭐 물론 오랫동안 해왔고 대회에서도 많이 우승하고 그랬으니까 어쨌든 확실히 경쟁심이 매우 강한 편이죠 하지만 제가 계속 대회를 나가는 근본적인 이유는 정말 따로 있어요 전 훈련 개념을 생각해내서 시도해보고 그걸 밖으로 꺼내서 어떤 결과가 나오는지 보고 싶거든요 브리딩도 마찬가지고 요즘은 상황이 더 어렵죠 정말 어 뭐랄까 무술과 비슷하다고 할까요 1993년에는 주짓수를 아는 사람이라면 누구나 거의 세계 챔피언이 될 수 있다고 보장되었지만 지금은 훨씬 다양한 스타일을 알아야 하고 그저 아는 것뿐만 아니라 그 특별한 사람이 되어야 하니까요 그리고 그런 사물의 진화 과정도 정말 흥미롭고 또 그렇게 오랫동안 경쟁력을 유지할 수 있다는 게 오랜 기간 말이죠 뭐 굳이 말하자면 항상 뭐 이런 원 히트 원더나 아니면 뭐라고 불러야 할지 모르겠는데 말하자면 5년 반짝하는 훈련사 같은 사람들이 있으니까요 네, 전 정말 여러 가지 이유로 반려견 훈련을 좋아해서 음 대회에 나가서
and you want to like you want to know more and be good at it absolutely go for it like no hesitation like zero is it fine find the money trust me larry ever think of retiring from competition um no that was an easy answer i don't think of retiring i think it's very exciting i think everything keeps evolving and you know i i need to also and for me it's really interesting just how it works because i breed dogs i also have my own training concepts and and it's you know it's just very very interesting for me to be able to test my dogs against the best in the world to train test my training concepts against the best in the world again just being in that circle of the the top trainers in the world all the time just um stop reading along you know like genetic selections and this and that okay you do a little bit more on these primitive sides grips and whatever but then how much billions and it's um some some people like there's there's quite a few different reasons why people will go to competition and i mean i'm i'm very competitive like though obviously i've been doing it for so long and i've won so many competitions and whatever so i'm clearly very extremely competitive but truly the roots of why i keep doing it is i come out with training concept i try it and then i want to throw it out there and see what happens you know um same thing with the breeding and and right now it's even harder like you you gotta you know it's it's like uh like with martial arts you you know in 1993 anybody that knew jujitsu was pretty much guaranteed to become a world champion now you need to know a lot of different styles and you need to not just know them you need to be that special person and you know so so that evolution of things also is very interesting and and you know being able to stay competitive for that long not to be um you know you always have this one song yet or uh this trainer that is like the what you would call it five year wander um yeah it's a like i like dog training for so many reasons that

경쟁하는 것은 저는 그게 정말 중요하다고 생각해요 정말로요, 제 말은 그러니까 강의에서 제가 스포츠 등에 대해 이야기할 때 그러니까 저는 정말 중요한 일이라고 생각해요 음, 용기와 배짱을 가지고 밖으로 한 발짝 내딛고 그 텅 빈 공간에 서는 것, 그리고 그동안 말해왔던 모든 것을 실제로 자, 여러분 저를 지켜보세요 제가 오늘 무엇을 할 것인지 지켜보세요라고 말하는 것 말이죠 결과가 나쁠 수도 좋을 수도 있지만 그냥 그게 저라는 사람인 것 같아요, 잘 모르겠네요, 좋은 질문이에요 좋은 질문이네요 당신의 강아지와 함께 어떤 일이 벌어질지 정말 기대돼요 일단 보여주기 시작하면 어떤 기분일지 어떤 기분일지 궁금해요 어떤 사람들은 좋아하고 어떤 사람들은 싫어하고, 또 어떤 사람들은 다시 말하지만 당신처럼 시도하다가 그만두기도 하지만 그런 분들도 있죠 저처럼 상관하지 않는 사람들요, 당신은 얻어맞고 짓눌리고 좌절하더라도 다음번엔 더 잘할 거라고 말하는 거죠 다음번에요 그건 중독이에요 네, 저는 로텐을 사용했어요 그리고 강아지들은 정말 훌륭했어요 그러니까 저는 다시 사용할 거예요, 그러니까 강아지들은 정말 놀라웠어요 정확히 몇 마리였는지는 모르겠지만 그들은 정말 대단한, 대단한 강아지들이었어요, 정말 대단한 강아지들이요 음, 그래서 네, 저는 다시 할 거예요 아까 이야기했던 것처럼 저는 분명히 다시 할 거예요 다른 독 스포츠를 해보신 적 있나요 대회에 참가했습니다 음, 저는 여러 가지 스포츠를 해봤지만 정말로 IGP에서 하는 수준까지 가본 적은 없습니다 그리고 저는 잘 이해하고 있습니다 꽤 여러 가지 다른 스포츠를요 정말 사소한 디테일까지도요 그리고 할 수 있습니다, 뭐 그러니까 선택지가 몇 개 있는데, 많은 것을 할 수도 있고 그냥 평균적인 수준으로 할 수도 있죠 아니면 한 가지를 정해서 끝까지 가볼 수도 있고요 그러니까 음 아시다시피 완벽함에 대한 집착 같은 것들 때문에 그냥 힘든 일이죠 하나 둘 IGP는 많은 것을 제공하니까 거의 세 가지 다른 개를 한 몸으로 훈련하는 것과 같아서 아주 멋집니다 아주 멋지죠 좋아요, 우리가 얼마나 오래 이걸 해왔는지 모르겠네요 어떤 사람들은 왔다 가기도 했지만 몇몇 분들은 계속 함께하고 계시네요 음 다시 말하지만 저는 그냥 모두가 잘 있는지 확인하고 싶었어요 어떻게 지내는지요 꽤 오랜만이네요 좋아요, 제 생각엔
um the the going and competing is i find that really important like i really do i mean you know from the course when i talk about sports and stuff like i i really think it's a important thing um to have the courage and the guts to kind of step out there and be on that empty space and having talked all this talk to actually say okay people watch me see this is what i'm gonna do today and it may be bad it may be good but you know it's just i guess who i am i don't know it's a good question i cannot wait to see what happens with your puppy and and how you know once you start showing how you're gonna feel because some people like it some people don't and some people again it's kind of like you you go but then you quit but then and then there is those ones like me that just it doesn't matter you just get beat up you get squashed and you're a car but i'm gonna do better next time it's addiction yes i did use rotten and the puppies were amazing like i'm i'm gonna use them again like the puppies were amazing like i don't know exactly how many we had but they were awesome awesome puppies like awesome puppies um so yeah i would do it again i was talking earlier about it like i definitely gonna do that again are there other dog sports you have competed in um i i have done different sports but i never really gone to the levels i do in igp and i understand very well quite a few different sports like like to the tiniest details and i can you know but um like you have few options you can do a lot of things and do it on the average level or you can do one thing and try to see what you can do and then um you know with the obsession of of you know perfection and stuff it's it's just hard one two igp offers a lot so it's like almost training to three different dogs in the same body so it's very cool all right i think how long we've been doing this some people have come and go but some of you are staying um again i just kind of didn't you know he had to check on everybody and see what's up it's been a while okay i think
