make him down or or sit whatever yes and don't forget don't be boring right we're not playing Monopoly Here Right This is like whoa yes good job buddy come get it right like this that's where you get to engage with your dog everything up until the marker you're quiet you're a statue you could be sitting in your chair and then out after he earns the reward you say y es like wooo right yes all right I'm going to try to do a shorter recall this time here so how should I rewarded that so so this is a little bit different this is a little complicated because um you he's not uh the there's a lot going on in this in this Behavior right so he's been lured to show how to come in front he came in incorrectly you went to lure him back into position I would have when he showed you his he's like he played his cards right yeah and you're like H that's the wrong card to play yeah right even though it was he came here off to the side yeah right I'd have been like nope reset start over recall here then he comes and when he makes the right he plays the right card and like yes buddy boom here's your here's your payment and actually come get it right come get it from me yeah right so I've lured him too much then no no you have I mean you haven't but like we need to start getting away from it yeah right okay so um just just let let him let him do let let let the dog do and then when he's just completely not focused on you just randomly recall and see what he does so if you're pulling him you're not randomly recalling let let him wander let him let him do let him like hold the end of the leash though right now recall your dog here now Mark yes and even though it was before he fully sat he came straight so he was on his way in mark it and then he doesn't and then after after you mark it if he goes off it doesn't matter yeah because he's going to come back to this last known spot this is his last GPS point of getting success yeah and then gradually you increase and make it closer and closer okay and now you fixed him without having to yank on him or without having to lure him yeah right and now we can we can we can kill like three birds with one stone by doing it this way so just say okay and be be free let him go off and do his thing and then randomly when he's not focused on you recall him again here yes good that's perfect and make it more fun come I got like make it more fun and say you're here just here like you don't want him to be numb to your volume right if you always say B here and then one time maybe you're like around a sleeping baby and you have to recall hey here he's not going to listen right you don't want him to be numb to your tone

or your volume so make sure that when you train that way they here just neutral and because volume is your it's your fail safe if you're in a public park and your batteries die on your e-collar the only thing you have to en wor your command is be here right and then it has effect that is the only fail safe that you have is your volume and your tone so don't let him be numb to it here so much and you see the you see the attitude improve he comes so much more willingly when he's like oh I'm not in trouble so should I rewarded that cuz he was hunting for reward it's fine yes in the beginning we reward almost everything okay EX like I mean unless you say V here and he runs over after another dog don't reward that but like everything he's been doing should get rewarded right now right we're like the criteria this is a big funnel right we're we're like we're right here we're pinballing and then we're slowly dialing it in yeah right okay that's what we're working on okay here yes perfect and then gradually as he's straight then you make him wait he comes and he sits and then you make him wait 10 seconds and then you say yes and then boom make them come chase you for the reward right what happens if the if the guy at the at the at the the blackjack table says oh you hear the ding ding ding ding ding and um instead of getting all your all your chips or your coins you have to run over to a to the the bank in the hotel you you're going to you're not going to walk to the bank you're going to run to the bank yeah right kind of what you're setting up [Music] here give give him a down or an sit but it's fine I'm just try to so Mark and pay and get away from him don't go to him make him come to you right we're lazy dog trainers right make the dog come to you again you have an active dog let him be active the more active he is the easier he's going to be to train okay okay call him to front again or or or sorry you're here here yeah and again work that leash you have to work the leash as as he's coming in don't pull him in but also don't let there be a million miles of slack CU if you do need to feed give some feedback you have to have an effective tension to do that you can't give feedback on a 20ft slack line on when he's 2 feet from you right yes now good do that that again sit and then instead of marking it say sit again and watch him do something okay here yes now just walk away and then just randomly tell them to sit sit wait count to sit again sit ni see so he's like oh if sit didn't get me a click and treat maybe it it's h him I'm go down because the next thing that usually gets me a treat is going down

right if you if you say sit he sits you say sit again he goes down poping he goes back up Marg your pay so try that try that exercise again because this is an exercise to keep the dog listening to your words and nothing else the words are the only thing that matter at this point I hate hand signals hand hand signals make a lazy dog they make a disobedient dog too actually and I'll I'll fight any pet dog trainer that wants to come at me with that I will fight you about Mark and pay yes now he now he's thinking oh why like it's good that he wants to go down that like it's not that the energy is bad it's that he wasn't listening to your words listen to Dad and and everything is going to be all right [Music] okay right because you might be like police they might be placed in a situation where they tell their dog to do something and then they do and then they say something to their dog they they say [Music] stand and the dog has to stand when they normally lay down but if the dog lays down they're on top of a mine right if I see my dog and I know he indicates or I see I see a land mine I say I say instead of saying plots I say stand yeah he's like he locks up right I keep my dog safe but normally he's like Wella why don't I just lay down but because he heard me say stand and he's obedient to that we avoid a catastrophe yeah right so it's always it has to be verbal CU regardless of the context of the situation the dog has to listen the Handler because you believe it or not you know more about the situation than this dog does you're the superior animal here the superior species you have more capabil like yes the dogs have excellent senses but but you as the Handler know more about the environment than they do and it's up to you to show them right yeah okay so do a few more sits do a few more Downs do some recalls okay sit see now he thinks oh sit means come back to me no I would rather have seen him sit right here right so no so the way you deal with that don't leash pop him yeah because coming to you is still something we want him to know that that's good so the the the proper punishment is just no reward okay so no reward start it over wait till he gets away from you he walks away you say sit as soon as he sits toss the food to him or run away and make him come to you and get the food okay sit yeah see now he's ignoring me that's okay so so so this is telling us that that's too much distance for him to be reliable so what you're going to do is you're G to choke up on that leash you're gonna give him like four feet and then you're just GNA walk and then you're going to say sit and then if he doesn't do it then you rein sit
